I have been buying my megabass 110 knockoffs from temu for a few years and they catch just as many bass as the originals for less than 2 bucks a pop vs 24 bucks.
That’s what I’m saying. The one area of concern is in the quality of the hooks, but internals are identical or near identical, so it just makes sense if you ask me. Save money and catch fish
Dang Ben- I really like everything you got in your Temu package! Thanks for sharing all the tackle and reels you purchased. There definitely seems to be some excellent deals in there that I really need to check out!!👍🏻😊
It seems you have hit a nerve with several people on doing this video Ben. I understand the idea of not wanting to pay for Chinese knock off products but I know where your heart was when you put this video together. All you were trying to do was show people how to save some big $ on fishing tackle but apparently Temu was where some of your subscribers drew the line and weren’t having any of it. I will certainly continue to be one of your subscribers because I absolutely believe you are a very good person who really wants to be able to show people how to catch more bass!! Keep up the great work Ben!!👍🏻😊
@@bobpayseno7481 thanks Bob. I understand both sides of the discussion. I think it’s like the bed fishing discussion. People will often feel or believe one way or the other. Being on social media it always seems black or white, but I’m very much in the middle on a lot of this stuff. By talking about TEMU products, I’m not saying I’ll never fish high end brands; but I do believe there are some good value products that are high quality on TEMU. Thanks for your comment Bob, I really appreciate you
I think the bed fishing thing is a great analogy just like the mask or no mask thing. 😷 The subjects seem to be so divisive and polarizing for most everyone to agree with a particular side. I would say it’s just better for you to move on to the next topic and just let it go. There’s no use to use anymore text to try and explain yourself to certain people, they already got their minds made up.😊
Great video. I have often wondered about how well the off brand baits compare. I am interested to see how they work for you. I am new to smallmouth fishing so buying baits to try different techniques is getting expensive. I did buy some Great Lakes finesse baits and beast coast jigs to try this year though.
Great video, Ben. I like to Gamble on Amazon products and will be branching out to try some more budget friendly options with confidence thanks to your video 👍
Dang dude, you don’t even seem happy to be making this video. I’ve been a sub for a while so I feel a bit of responsibility to be honest here, this video is the reason for me leaving. I honestly don’t believe you when you say you’re going to consider those jerkbaits in the future. I don’t think you believe you’ll catch just as many fish on those swim baits. You seem so dialed on your lures usually and none of this cheap stuff feels dialed at all. Not to mention Temu uses companies involved with sweat shops and most likely forced labor camps. I truly hope the channel continues to do well and hope you continue to grow, I just don’t get down with what seems like a cash grab. Maybe it’s not, and I’ll admit I could be wrong. I just have a hard time believing you ever touch any of that stuff again, especially in a tournament.
Check my Instagram if you have any questions about me actually using the gear. The reel in that latest reel is from this video. I’m at a point to call out the bologna that is the fishing industry. We are being overcharged for baits made in the same shops as these TEMU products. There is no or very minimal difference between a Megabass Spark Shad and the Swimbait from this video. Brands are over-charging because they can. My buddy Aaron Ditty custom paints knockoff blanks and they are as good if not better than the “name brands.” We need to open our eyes and save money where we can. Why support brands that jack up prices just because they know people will still buy it? I’d be disappointed to see you go, but to leave because of what is an unboxing is a disappointment. I’d ask you to truly say to yourself, is it worth over paying for baits that you don’t need to?
@@brnowak_fishing I don’t doubt that these catch fish, I just don’t think they will catch them as well, be as good of quality, or have as good of customer service. I know that a lot of companies are overcharging for Chinese factory products but I do my best to avoid those companies. I put a lot of thought into where my money goes in terms of fishing gear. I work in an industry with direct Chinese company competition and often the Chinese companies will straight up rip off design files or reverse engineer products they don’t fully understand and often put out a sub par product that looks identical from the outside. Not to mention I’ve seen to many of my friends waste money on Amazon products from similar companies for stuff that just doesn’t work. Cheap or not, the lost that money. And I’ll never challenge your integrity, I don’t know you so you might honestly believe in temu. I’m just basing everything off your old videos where you seemed excited for product reviews (a recent example is the Great Lakes review). This one you just didn’t seem whole heartedly into it
@@mattseifert to each their own. It’s the same reason I don’t throw a 110 anymore because I can buy a Jerkbait for $8 that is a near perfect knock off. I could provide long lists of less expensive baits that I fish and use because it’s not worth spending my money on. Same reason I pour my own tackle, saves money and works just as good, even though they’re very standard shapes
@@brnowak_fishing Not being rude, I am genuinely curious. Did TEMU pay you to make this? I have suspected they are paying a lot of creators to push it.
Pretty sad that you’re pushing Temu rip offs. I’m all about budget fishing, but all these products are just basically stolen from people who put tons of time and money into designing them and making them. Then marketing them and paying fisherman represent them. It is no different than someone taking all your videos from RUclips and just changing your name by adding a number on it or something and creating a new account to profit from your work. This is what makes real products so expensive. They have a short window to make money because people steal their designs. So then they are forced to cut on other things like packaging to try to bring you a product that they poured their heart and soul into.
Those are knockoff Kaenon because they aren't cheap and the lenses on the authentic are amazing...been fishing with the same pair for over 10 years no scratches.
That’s good to know. I’d honestly not heard of Kaenon before ordering. The frames were great, the lenses however were similar to something you’d expect them to be for that price
Its weird you wont name the stuff you are comparing this stuff against. You wouldn't name the hooks you like to use on your jerkbaits, why because they have to pay you to say there name ?
😂 because why would I drag a company’s name, telling you that you’re overpaying for them? The hooks I use on the Jerkbait are Ichikawa and Owner hooks. There are hundreds of videos on my channel where I talk about products from companies not paying me, so that’s just a very silly comment
Its better then wish alibaba and all the other shops like it and you cant tell people to shop somewhere ive been shoping on temu and its not a scam o recently bought tackle rod and reel for good prices and i was able to catch a 5 pounder bass
Ive fished successfully on less as a kid so i find these videos like this and mystery tackle dollar store lures irrelevant and stupid. Of course you can find a few stupid hungry fish.
I love boat flipping tanks on the cheap, but I'm not gonna do it at the cost of young kids working 60+ hours a week in factory with lead/cancer chemicals with zero safety regulations. That's why the price is extreme lower, or they copy/steal because they don't follow patent / copyright rules. All these temu videos are Cringy.
Can I ask what makes TEMU products different than the other major brands coming from these same factories? Most of the products on the market, believe it or not come from the same places. You’re just paying for that brand’s markup
Accountability, the major brands can be fined, taxed, have products recalled, have to meet regulations. They might be made in the same factory cause Temu steals the blueprints and molds after the major brands do the research and pay for the molds. If a temu product is not safe you're never gonna know. Also major brands have customer service, donate to leagues, parks, natural resource clean-ups, scholarships.
This changes absolutely nothing for me. I’m still using all the beast coast and GLF and homemade tackle I always have. Still using the hand paint stuff from my buddy Ditty, but why pay insane prices for JDM gear that’s just not needed? There still some tackle that’s hard or impossible to replicate, but I struggle to pay crazy jacked up prices because these companies know we’ll pay it. All the companies I use are ones I believe in and don’t take advantage of consumers
Might not change anything for you , still going to watch and all that jazz all these cheap , cheap , cheap knock off brands and people pushing it are going to change the landscape of fishing !!!! Not for the better Still love the channel! been watching for a long long time . Will continue to watch But you are not a knock off brand kinda guy IMO
