    Great show guys,always enjoy your stroll through the Petty history.As for nicknames,I think it may be 1959-60,the Richard was racing a convertible with the name "Squirrel" on the door.

    Pretty dang cool @4:24 if you've got a car with dual exhaust in the driveway & a gas pump in your back yard in the 1950's.

    Smiley was Ed Reitzels nick name from Liberty NC. He painted the numbers on the cars for The Pettys before they went to Decals.

    Jack Rabbit was the go to place to send photos right to the advent of poliroad instamatic camera..right up to to..the 70s...you get a folder and send negatives off...i still have some...mother and daddy had a Kodak Brownie Camera and buy film in rolls and you could send them anytime...so if Jack Rabbit date mabe not when filmed was taken....enjoy your show..

    Who in the Petty Family had the forsight to save all of this history? Like safely store the pictures, programs and such? Was it Mrs. Lee Petty? Was it Lee Petty himself? I can't even find my birth certificate............just sayin'

      the heritage of the era folks coming up through the depression ...you don't throw stuff away...an era tradition that disposable diapers did away with ..

      My guess is Elizabeth Petty, Lee’s wife. She was the bookkeeper and the one who paid the bills.
