I’m autistic and was nonverbal until I was almost 5. I’m now in medical school and plan on becoming a radiation oncologist. Autism doesn’t necessarily have to be a disability, it just causes us to experience the world in a different way. Good luck to you and your son!

exactly i have aspurgus and when i was younger it made me abit awkward socially but always was smart now im more social too i recommend people not to label themselves as austistic or aspurgus even if they have been diagnosed with it because there is alot of ignorant morons out there who will just see you as the label and not a human being and treat you differently.

In my own personal experience its a super power not a disability, it does however from my understanding operate on a spectrum. In my case, I’m anti-social to the max (though i’ve developed social skills later on still kinda suck at being a person still but its getting better!) its a grind at first but once the ball gets rolling it becomes an avalanche very quickly! Nurture him and keep teaching him it seems like you’re doing amazing as parents, keep doing you and keep smiling. peace and love to you and your family!

So all the more props to your son congratulations 🍾 it may be tough but it is a really great gift mine is I see stuff different verses other people and I hate loud noises and I am very shy I cannot always look people in the eye and I I talk a lot a lot and I can’t do math for the life of me and I can’t tell time unless it is a digital clock but it is ok it is still a gift to have I am now 22 and I have made it this far on my own and now I am making it further through life and my goals with help from my Auntie and so it is a gift 💝. It may be hard down the road but for him knowing he has loving parents is a good 😊 thing. Anything is possible for him the future awaits a great 😊 nice 👍🏽 good kid. My parents had a hard time with me whenever I was born too. I used to be so iffy about touching and affection that I didn't even allow it from my mother and father at one point. I had problems learning, but I excel in a lot of other subjects. Autism is not like being mentally dead. I have been autistic for most of my life and you will wind up being blessed by his hyper-obsessions once he gets older. He will learn in time and I'm sure he will be someone you will be proud of, despite his diagnosis. My autism affects me in a way where when I was younger I had problems speaking, but as I got older my learning disorder was narrowed down towards numbers. I was great with English, and Geography, and pretty much anything else, but I was terrible with math. It's a roll of the dice with any person on the autistic spectrum but you will learn to love it. ❤

People always said I had a hard time learning but it was HOW they were teaching that I didn't get and communicating with people was difficult but I also was years ahead in reading aptitude and understanding of science as well as having what I now know is a unique perspective on things. Keep your chin up man an try not to worry about what isn't set in stone yet. Give the little guy patience and support an I'm sure he'll surprise you guys. Sending love an best wishes❤️

Stay strong! There is a pro and con to everything in life. There is a decently high correlation with something called "perfect pitch" and autism. Perfect pitch is the ability to identify, instantaneously recall and recreate any note. Just like you're taught to identify and instinctively know colors, they can be taught sounds. People like Beethoven, Charlie Puth, and Michael Jackson have it. Feel free to watch some vids on it or read an article or too if you're interested. I have have an incomplete form of this because I didn't get enough training when younger on it, so I can only identify a couple notes. If you introduce him to professional music lessons and have him listen to a lot of complex music (classical, jazz) he might be able to acquire it. I wish you the best!

Thanks for letting us know. my son turns 2 years old November 2nd and he was recently diagnosed with autism as well. As soon as he turns 2 he’s going to begin pre school with other kids with autism and I hope he learns a lot more. ❤

Your son looks too young for them to give a definitive diagnosis. My nephew was the same way when he was his size and got a wrong autism diagnoses. He's now five, and is slowly but surely caching up to other kids his age, thanks to speech therapy. Best of luck with everything.

ahhh people like you are under every single video of autistic people...
are you paid bots from "autism speaks"?
Im a mildly autustic woman, im highly verbally fluent and have above average intelligence (they tested me); being verbal and catching up in most respects to other children does NOT mean your child doesnt have autism.
      Autism isnt "when no speak".

@@lil_weasel219 Don't know what "people like you" is supposed to mean. Just like I didn't know this was gonna be a video about autism. I'm definitely not an expert on the subject. I just think a lot of kids are being diagnosed too early.

As I’ve grown I think I might have some sort of slight form. But trust me I’m doing good for myself and my age. Ain’t nothing to worry about as long as y’all keep doing amazing like y’all are now!

He seem fine toe? What's the problem again? As long as he is healthy that's all that matters bless y'all hearts. He still will learn. I learn their very smart. And learn a lot faster then others anyway. If they really into something. There is a future cool dude.
