Knowing how bare bones the mechanics of this game are, it wouldn't surprise me if you had to actually summon the individual pieces of Exodia to get it to kill the opponent. And I like how I often spend minutes running around trying to unlock the Arkana event and it turns out you can just get him before doing anything else.

For example, say for a certain duel we know that the 5th, 10th, 13th, 31st, and 39th cards in the deck will be drawn - then we'll reorder the cards in the deck so those 5 slots are each a DEATH piece. That's why you see me go into the trunk before most duels to add and remove cards - that's changing their placement in the deck itself.

Technically yes, you just wouldn't get access to them as early in the run. The Exodia pieces have a higher deck capacity cost than the Destiny Board pieces, so you'd have to complete more of the run 'normally' before you've leveled up enough to fit them in - which is why we use Destiny Board for the speedrun!

All you need to do to trigger the Arkana event is beat the orange shirt guy in clock tower square and talk to him afterwards!
