game day melo didn't produce for okc, but come on now melo is one of the best scorers to ever play in the NBA. He was also out if position as well, but this was a great pickup for okc. I would like to see Westbrook and Dennis playing the 1 and 2 and PG at the 3, Grant at the 4 and Adams at the 5.

He plays and distributes the ball like Rondo. He just did a lot of scoring for the Hawks cuz they didn't have enough firepower...but I think if you surround him with shooters he can be a Rondo like potential player....

Good for for OKC. As a Hawks fan, I've watched DS17 play since Day 1 in the NBA. Let me tell ya, when he first came in backup for Jeff Teague this guy was turning heads around the NBA. A big reason why the Hawks were a 60 win team that year was due to Schroder coming off the bench and pushing the pace of the game just like the starter(s). He'll be a perfect fit behind Westbrook, perfect! Also, he'll be able to reserve more energy now to get back to his go to tactic. Pressing the ball full court after a made basket. Might I say we may be talking about next years 6th man of the year award winner! ?

Yüneté /u•ni•ty/ Brand Not really. OKC just lost to a team led by a rookie in 6 games and managed to ruin Melo’s career due to Westbrook’s statpadding. If anything, they seriously underachieved this year with Russ, Melo, PG, and Adams on the team.
How did they ruin Melo's career if he was bricking all his wide open 3s in the playoffs and 4th quarters?
Bazralian Because they took the ball out of his hands and made Westbrook the only player who was allowed to run any offense, which made Melo a catch-and-shoot player and fucked up his rhythm. Melo still has superstar talent but he’s not being used correctly. In New York, he did everything but there was no help for him except in the 2012-13 season. Melo can still do something with the Rockets but I feel the Thunder wasted a really precious and anticipatory year of Melo’s career. And it’s happened wth a lot of players who’ve gone to OKC and turned into shit
ATL some of what you say is true but Melo is not physically able to keep up with fast pace like okc. And it’s his own fault for not adapting and hitting his shots. If you think I’m lying go to the beginning of the season when okc was hot garbage and it was because Westbrook was refusing to shoot just to get melo and PG touches costing them game after game. Even melo himself said that he shouldn’t get them in rhythm and they should follow his rhythm. Pg Adapted Melo Did not.
ATL lol nothing like said makes sense Jazz went 33-8 to end the season they aren’t scrubs everyone says that like they’re bad and Melo is 34 😂 he ruined his own career staying in nyc chasing money

Alec Bennett yeah grant should start although his spacing isn't as Good as Patterson but his switchability with pg and andre would be terrifying for other teams . Okc might have a top 3 defense with the starting line up

anybody's that been watching thunder basketball these past couple of years, knows that a large reason why they thunder struggled throughout the course of the season & in the playoffs is because when westbrook isn't on the floor, any lead they get disappears. not only will schroeder be able to fill that role, but he can take a lot of pressure off of westbrook. he'll be a very good facilitator to the bigs and wings and he can get his, especially in transition. and be solid defensively as a passing lane disruptor. if you play him and westbrook in the same lineup, it'll be a difficult cover because both are extremely quick and always keep their opponents on their heels. schroeder loves that mid range pull up, as well. their game's compliment each other nicely.
Yeah, but neither can shoot the 3 ball with consistency and their bigs aren't that gifted offensively (to be nice) therefore OKC will struggle tremendously at times. Teams will sag into the paint and force all those bad shooting wings to beat them..not going to happen. He's a perfect backup for Russ, but that's it. when DS and RW are on the floor together it'll be tough to watch OKC.
If he can except the 6th man role, Okc is in great position for next year and Dennis could possibly be 6th man of the year

This is such a smart move nd id like to see a unique small-ball lineup with dennis at the 1 nd russ at the 2, i feel like that would work. reminds me of when they would sometimes do that with reggie jackson at 1 nd russ at the 2, except dennis can shoot nd give you 20 points a night. this is such a great move
