Secretary birds are indeed optimised for snake killing in regards to "rattlesnake versus Secretary bird." As much as I love snakes, Secretary birds do look fantastic, and amusingly have "eyelashes"
At around 37:15 or so I think the brachiosaurus toy may be holding an old game controller such as an N64 or SNES controller, not a gun. I could be wrong though.
27:27 that is a character called diego brando, a British cowboy that can turn into a utahraptor, and turn others into dinosaurs by biting or scratching them he is a character from a long running manga series called jojos bizarre adventure
I think your secret admirer who sent the “who would win” book might be Clint from @ClintsReptiles on RUclips. He’s a zoologist who also does educational videos, mostly on extant reptiles but he also does other segment on other animals including dinosaurs and he has a series where he critiques those “who would win” books. I can definitely see him being a fan of yours, and a collaboration video with the two of you would be GOLD!!
27:30 Ok just an FYI, that is not supposed to be an eoraptor, its from a manga called Jojo's Bizzare Adventure and the character Dio turns into that creature, its supposed to be a Utahraptor. (its still wildly inaccurate though)
following up from this i simply searched "eoraptor" and nothing else into amazon and not one but TWO listings for this figure and the one with more reviews is a delight to look through for the contrast of like parents buying it for kids/putting it on some kind of cake, some people getting very upset that its not an accurate eoraptor and not realizing its a bootleg anime figure (some even thinking its jurrasic park lol), and people who bought it because of the original source material.
I can't tell if you fully got the joke of Flynn's cartoon on the side of his box. The big theropod was looking at a picture of, I assume, itself being posed balancing on its tail, saying, "Those were the days" because now it needs a walker to hold itself up. The little theropod is saying, "That human was in here critiquing it", presumably being you, saying that the tripodal design balanced on the tail is bad. Honestly, feels really clever and tongue in cheek.
I wasn't expecting a Scary Monsters jumpscare today but here we are. ETA for the YDAW crew: almost none of the animals in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are accurate, so it's on-brand for the creator's art style.
I don't know if you've seen the Clint's reptiles video where Clint goes through the who would win dinosaur book, but it's worth the watch if you haven't. He also agrees with you that the whole series of books is less than stellar to put it mildly.
47:32 I’m glad to see my letter appearing in this mailbag episode. I know it’s been a while, but I thought it’d be nice to write to you and send you some of my artwork again. Also I meant to say separate species instead of separate genera when I was referring to the Tyrannosaurus specimens. Oh well, mistakes happen. 49:46 I based the color schemes of the T. rex, T. regina, and T. imperator off of the T. rexes from Walking with Dinosaurs, When Dinosaurs Roamed America, and Prehistoric Planet. P.S. I moved out of Washington and now I live in Colorado.
That one raptor has those antenna like that because it's actually a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run, and Hirohiko Araki likes drawing unusual aesthetic elements on his characters You should see this guy try to drink coffee, it's adorable
I have no idea if my old dinosaurs toys were thrown out when my parents sold my childhood home or if the toys were put into storage. So have a super thanks instead of fanmail with an old toy.
MINE is the first one! YAY! Thank you!! That odd puppet... I do not remember what it came from, but I agree it is super weird. I think it is just a generic Tyrannosaurus toy.
I also possess a grey long toes monster that I had beenmeaning to send you, and I think I once had a green one. I always played with it as a raptor since it could only stand in a dynamic position if wedged on top of a herbivore the way you sometimes see raptors attacking them. I also one considered that it might be a pachycephalosaur. Most recently I also found that Knight painting and realized that its a tyranosaur
A good closing set of images. Always good to see Grimlock... Though, Transformers did do more "accurate" beast forms in Beast Wars with Megatron (T Rex), Dinobot (Velociraptor), and Terrorsaur (Pteranodon). And there were still major inaccuracies with them too. And Terrorsaur, even in beast mode, walked on two legs when on the ground.
21:27 Thank you for covering my drawings! I'm so glad you liked them and that some of them were new to you. Though I do wish you'd read the descriptions I wrote for the dinosaurs, there was a lot of mail to cover so I can understand omitting some stuff. And I finally have closure on what that long toes monster is. I will definitely be watching this again.
Ya gotta watch Prehistoric Planet 2! I thought it was amazing and I actually got my kids to watch with me and it really captured their imagination!! 10/10- would recommend
I have that red dinosaur hand puppet and I know exactly what you’re talking about when you mentioned that disgusting feeling. For some reason the inside of it feels eternally sweaty while also feeling clammy.
Either Clint’s Reptiles sent you the who would win book to see your thoughts, or a fan of Clint’s reptiles wanted you to suffer just as much as Clint did when he read that book. Clint has done reviews of the “who would win” books in which he discusses how horrible they are LOL.
Venom Pterosaur, they mentioned something interesting. Cipher is pursuing new research. He claims that what they're doing in Africa is the missing piece. An Azdarchid to surpass Quetzalcoaltus.
Bertrand is part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew.... I'm honestly tempted to track down a Bertrand of my own if I can find the one odd chinasaur he was
The new Tyrannosaurus species names probably wouldn't have precedence, because some of them were based on types that used to be seen as different species in the past. They would have to get those species names back.
I love quetzalcoatlus, and I've heard so many pronouncements, I've made peace with the fact regardless how ya say it it's a weird name, naming it after an Aztec snake with wings never maid sense to me
If you like our stuff, and would like to help us keep making it, please consider chipping in over at patreon.com/YDAW, or taking a look at our products at www.ydawtheshop.com, or by buying Steven a coffee at ko-fi.com/ydawtheshow . All proceeds go back into making the videos you see here!
I appreciate that in the credits you've got iguanodon going all the way up to 2024 now
Secretary birds are indeed optimised for snake killing in regards to "rattlesnake versus Secretary bird."
As much as I love snakes, Secretary birds do look fantastic, and amusingly have "eyelashes"
At around 37:15 or so I think the brachiosaurus toy may be holding an old game controller such as an N64 or SNES controller, not a gun. I could be wrong though.
The hand puppet is a near 1 for 1 recreation of the Um-actually-a-saurus.
Pretty sure the secret admirer is Clints Reptiles since he covered that book and was in physical pain as he read through it 😆
That would be funny!
It would be a conundrum I can’t ignore.
That Papo quetzelcoatlus looks like a dog that got caught piddling on the floor. 😆
Of course people are going to acknowledge Bertrand as a part of the team. He's the mascot!
27:27
that is a character called diego brando, a British cowboy that can turn into a utahraptor, and turn others into dinosaurs by biting or scratching them
he is a character from a long running manga series called jojos bizarre adventure
I submit that "Borbiness" become an official scientific term. If we can't, then I suggest "Borbiocity".
Hmmm, interesting idea, I wonder if the book was from Clint, it would be hilarious if it was. And I agree, a colab between the two would be awesome.
I would love to see a collab with them
I consider Steven and Clint to be brothers from another mother lol. Would love a collab video!!!
Im glad you liked the dinosaur chicken nugget! 🦕 🐔
It's so adorable!
It's awesome, I think you've inspired me to use some of my brown yarn to crochet some :)
27:30 Ok just an FYI, that is not supposed to be an eoraptor, its from a manga called Jojo's Bizzare Adventure and the character Dio turns into that creature, its supposed to be a Utahraptor. (its still wildly inaccurate though)
Oh neat! Apparently Eoraptor is what it was labelled on the Amazon listing (no idea why), but that's cool to know. :)
following up from this i simply searched "eoraptor" and nothing else into amazon and not one but TWO listings for this figure and the one with more reviews is a delight to look through for the contrast of like parents buying it for kids/putting it on some kind of cake, some people getting very upset that its not an accurate eoraptor and not realizing its a bootleg anime figure (some even thinking its jurrasic park lol), and people who bought it because of the original source material.
27:30 I never expected to see a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure reference on this channel yet here we are
Was about to comment that lol
Everything is a Jojo reference
DIO!
lmao, i came directly to look for this comment
ZA WARUDO

Replace all those statues of old terrible people with statues of dinosaurs.
Same thing, really.
Bonus points if they're old terrible dinosaurs. Swap the roadside sculptures for the statues.
27:53 that raptor is supposed to be a stand called scary monsters from part 7 of the anime series jojo s bizarre adventure
I wasn't expecting a Scary Monsters jumpscare today but here we are.

Can I just say how much I appreciate these fans sending in references to transformers and JoJo‘s bizarre adventures. I love it.😊
I love that "thagomizer" has become a semi-official term!
Us too. It's very fun to say!
Good lord I love Ryan’s art of the lesser known dinos! The color schemes and markings and displays were all so beautiful! Great job Ryan from Utah!!
That one raptor has those antenna like that because it's actually a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run, and Hirohiko Araki likes drawing unusual aesthetic elements on his characters
You should see this guy try to drink coffee, it's adorable
The blue raptor with yellow marking that was called a "eoraptor" is actually the dinosaur form of Diego Brando from Jojo's bizzare adventure part 7!
yes, I believe it's meant to be a Utahraptor
@@thewingedporpoise Probably cus I think eoraptor is very small
27:30 I am pretty sure that is Scary Monsters from the Manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventures
I have no idea if my old dinosaurs toys were thrown out when my parents sold my childhood home or if the toys were put into storage. So have a super thanks instead of fanmail with an old toy.
Wow! Thank you so much. :)
2:54 "This 'object' " 💀
2:33 I would say that "borbiness" is a new one, but I, too, have likely used this teen at some point. And i find it delightful.
MINE is the first one! YAY! Thank you!!
That odd puppet... I do not remember what it came from, but I agree it is super weird. I think it is just a generic Tyrannosaurus toy.
It’s been a long time. But it’s been a great wait to see all this mail.
I also possess a grey long toes monster that I had beenmeaning to send you, and I think I once had a green one. 16:50: The Styracosaurus reminds me of 'Monarch of the Glen'.
I don't know why balaur bondoc isn't more well known, it's insanely cool with its two sickle claws!
27:49 *IS THAT A MOTHER FUCKING JOJO REFERENCE IN YOUR DINOSAURS ARE WRONG?!?*
Actual Jojo reference in the wild
Great day when a new YDAW video comes out
Happy to be of service!
I like dinosaurs
You have very good taste.
A good closing set of images. Always good to see Grimlock... 27:30
YOU WERE EXPECTING A DINOSAUR,
BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY ME DIO! (Diego)
I agree. We need more dinosaur statues in the center of town!
45:57 Wuerhosaurus is the round plated stegosaur. I only know this bc it's a species in Jurassic World Evolution 2
I believe the consensus is that the fossil plates of Wuerhosaurus were degraded, not rounded in life
If I’m not mistaken, the Sideshow Styracosaurus maquette was sculpted (or at least designed) by David Krentz. It’s definitely got his style.
Yep! That's what was used for reference!
27:26 You thought it was Eoraptor, but it was me... DIO!
all the drawings by Ryan are so nice, their so detailed.
that display structur. i´ve seen it in the manga Jojo´s Bizzare adventure where the main villain who is a vampire turns into a raptor at some point
39:04 King Kong in the 2005 Peter Jackson movie:
Thought the same lol
that display structure on that Eoraptor is from JoJos bizarre adventures believe it or not
Ya gotta watch Prehistoric Planet 2! I thought it was amazing and I actually got my kids to watch with me and it really captured their imagination!! 10/10- would recommend
The crystal is Fluorite xD
These are so wholesome
I love them
Also, hi Bertrand! We acknowledge you.
At 3:04 it's not a tyrannosaur, that my friend is a tyhandasaur
35:07 Thats From Joguman, a Korean story publisher and It's one of there mascots. They do funny little comic panel strips.
That bipedal sauropodomorph is supposed to be Gallimimus
The long toes monster! How nostalgic, I still have my grey one which came with a baby in the same pose.
Can somebody send him the new Schleich Moros
I have that red dinosaur hand puppet and I know exactly what you’re talking about when you mentioned that disgusting feeling. For some reason the inside of it feels eternally sweaty while also feeling clammy.
I like the wing patterns on the Pteranodon at 9:40.
Either Clint’s Reptiles sent you the who would win book to see your thoughts, or a fan of Clint’s reptiles wanted you to suffer just as much as Clint did when he read that book. Clint has done reviews of the “who would win” books in which he discusses how horrible they are LOL.
Oooo what multitool is that? A Leatherman with dino themed etchings on it would be cool!
20:58 I actually have the toy this thing is based on, it’s the old Marx Tyrannosaurus.
what a good way to start the holidays
Seeing the Diego toy made me literally jump out of bed
I have this Papo Quetzalcoatlus figure and absolutely agree
Oh, I had the gray long toes monster too! I just disregarded the number of fingers and used it as my Tyrannosaurus when playing with my dinosaur toys.
45:46 It's Wuerhosaurus
Either a random Megalosaurus or Carnosaur from Carnosaur Franchise
Venom Pterosaur, they mentioned something interesting. Cipher is pursuing new research. He claims that what they're doing in Africa is the missing piece. An Azdarchid to surpass Quetzalcoaltus.
Borbiness isn't a term I expected Steven to use. Ever.
I think that red Tyrannosaurus puppet thing might be Devil Dinosaur from Marvel.
always love a new mailbag episode!
Bertrand is part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew.... I'm honestly tempted to track down a Bertrand of my own if I can find the one odd chinasaur he was
Gyro gearloose is the duck tales character
That reminds me, I need to mail in a couple boxes.
You thought it was Eoraptor but it was me DIO
Actually, I think that the Dinobots are in the style of the dinosaurs from the show Primal, which is a pretty wild mash up, very cool.
3:28 I think it’s supposed to be a t-Rex lol
That brachiosaurus really got me XDDD
The new Tyrannosaurus species names probably wouldn't have precedence, because some of them were based on types that used to be seen as different species in the past. They would have to get those species names back.
I love quetzalcoatlus, and I've heard so many pronouncements, I've made peace with the fact regardless how ya say it it's a weird name, naming it after an Aztec snake with wings never maid sense to me
Steve is so cute
I wouldn’t send stuff and then ask to send them back,.. dudes got shit to do. Dont give him work
I have that T. rex hand puppet, and it always made me laugh with how off-putting it was 😂
31.30: Clint's Reptiles reviewed that book, you can almost feel his pain through the vid... It's hilarious.
31:30
I wonder if the card I sent like 2 years ago will be in here...
The 2019 book part 😂
There was meant to be a letter with the Jurassic world minis :(
Also the little guy was a struthomimus i think
its actually a gallimimus sorry
I think you are still missing the Bex Box
Omg, I can't believe we did it again. I've marked it with a big red label and put it in a place to make sure it doesn't get shuffled again. Sorry. :/
@@YourDinosaursAreWrong it partially my fault for sending it through unusual channels
I thought "borbiness" was some scientific term I didn't recognize and had to look it up 😅
Haven't clicked as fast on a video in a while
The pterosaur artist looks like they were looking at a bat... while intoxicated
Wait. People still send paper mail?
27:27 is that a JOJO reference?
That's not a dilophosaurus that's allo from dinosaur valley
Nice
Chinasaurus? *dead*
those books are sooooo bad
That weird Quetzalcoatlus pose might be a weird rendition of a 'stalking' pose.
