Secretary birds are indeed optimised for snake killing in regards to "rattlesnake versus Secretary bird."
As much as I love snakes, Secretary birds do look fantastic, and amusingly have "eyelashes"
At around 37:15 or so I think the brachiosaurus toy may be holding an old game controller such as an N64 or SNES controller, not a gun. I could be wrong though.
The hand puppet is a near 1 for 1 recreation of the Um-actually-a-saurus.
Pretty sure the secret admirer is Clints Reptiles since he covered that book and was in physical pain as he read through it 😆

I can't tell if you fully got the joke of Flynn's cartoon on the side of his box. The big theropod was looking at a picture of, I assume, itself being posed balancing on its tail, saying, "Those were the days" because now it needs a walker to hold itself up. The little theropod is saying, "That human was in here critiquing it", presumably being you, saying that the tripodal design balanced on the tail is bad. Honestly, feels really clever and tongue in cheek.
27:30 Ok just an FYI, that is not supposed to be an eoraptor, its from a manga called Jojo's Bizzare Adventure and the character Dio turns into that creature, its supposed to be a Utahraptor. (its still wildly inaccurate though)
Oh neat! Apparently Eoraptor is what it was labelled on the Amazon listing (no idea why), but that's cool to know. :)
following up from this i simply searched "eoraptor" and nothing else into amazon and not one but TWO listings for this figure and the one with more reviews is a delight to look through for the contrast of like parents buying it for kids/putting it on some kind of cake, some people getting very upset that its not an accurate eoraptor and not realizing its a bootleg anime figure (some even thinking its jurrasic park lol), and people who bought it because of the original source material.

I think your secret admirer who sent the “who would win” book might be Clint from @ClintsReptiles on RUclips. He’s a zoologist who also does educational videos, mostly on extant reptiles but he also does other segment on other animals including dinosaurs and he has a series where he critiques those “who would win” books.
I can definitely see him being a fan of yours, and a collaboration video with the two of you would be GOLD!!

I wasn't expecting a Scary Monsters jumpscare today but here we are.
ETA for the YDAW crew: almost none of the animals in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are accurate, so it's on-brand for the creator's art style.
I don't know if you've seen the Clint's reptiles video where Clint goes through the who would win dinosaur book, but it's worth the watch if you haven't. He also agrees with you that the whole series of books is less than stellar to put it mildly.

That one raptor has those antenna like that because it's actually a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run, and Hirohiko Araki likes drawing unusual aesthetic elements on his characters

I also possess a grey long toes monster that I had beenmeaning to send you, and I think I once had a green one. I always played with it as a raptor since it could only stand in a dynamic position if wedged on top of a herbivore the way you sometimes see raptors attacking them. I also one considered that it might be a pachycephalosaur. Most recently I also found that Knight painting and realized that its a tyranosaur

A good closing set of images. Always good to see Grimlock... Though, Transformers did do more "accurate" beast forms in Beast Wars with Megatron (T Rex), Dinobot (Velociraptor), and Terrorsaur (Pteranodon). And there were still major inaccuracies with them too. And Terrorsaur, even in beast mode, walked on two legs when on the ground.

I have that red dinosaur hand puppet and I know exactly what you’re talking about when you mentioned that disgusting feeling. For some reason the inside of it feels eternally sweaty while also feeling clammy.
Actually, I think that the Dinobots are in the style of the dinosaurs from the show Primal, which is a pretty wild mash up, very cool.
Either Clint’s Reptiles sent you the who would win book to see your thoughts, or a fan of Clint’s reptiles wanted you to suffer just as much as Clint did when he read that book. Clint has done reviews of the “who would win” books in which he discusses how horrible they are LOL.

The new Tyrannosaurus species names probably wouldn't have precedence, because some of them were based on types that used to be seen as different species in the past. They would have to get those species names back.
