I've read so many stories, and no matter what these cancer patients do,the cancer always seems to return.😔

I am so lucky to be here, age 79. I had surgery for oesaphagus cancer nearly seven years ago. I can’t eat big meals and my breathing isn’t great if I walk a long distance, but that could be due to my age 😂😂
Good luck to everyone who is going through this, and stay positive 😊

I lost a dear friend from this. He was 57 years old. He was a daily drinker and I do believe that was why he got it. It doesn't take away the pain though. By the time he had problems swallowing, it was just too late to do anything. He passed after less than 2 years. He had surgery, chemo and radiation but it just spread so quickly.

I was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in Feb after I found it really difficult to swallow food, even drinks by the time I started chemo. I had chemo/radiotherapy, then surgery. My surgeon and oncologist assure me I am cancer free, after it entered my lymph nodes as well, but I am here just thinking, I may as well quit work and enjoy life before the darn thing comes back. I am on immunotherapy, once a fortnight, for like 2 years, they tell me. It is like I am receiving chemo. the side effects are just as bad. On the positive side, I am eating pretty much normally now, just smaller portions.

@@NirbhaySinghTanwar-tq8tk I'm all good, that is I am in a good place of accepting what is going on and just dealing with things as they come. The trick is living in the moment. Forget about the past, ie. How did I get cancer and don't try to imagine all the what if's in the future. Carpe diem. Seize the day. Live! I am taking Folfox 6 chemo now as the disease has spread to all lymph nodes. I have a terrific support crew of alllied health care professionals: Exercise physiologist, Dietician, Occupational Therapist who assist me greatly in my day to day living and work commitments. Cheers.

False negative tests . Serious problem
With the lymphatic nodes . They should
      Be removed during the surgery.

@@Robsav-yx6vi Yeah, just needed to be more closely monitored I think. Trouble with public system vs private. Comes down to money. Not cheap to run pet scans and ct scans so it just flies under the radar. The lymph nodes affected are pretty much everywhere. I'm on a new course of chemo with immunotherapy simultaneously. The fun continues.

I have dysphagia and esophageal dysmotility. I don't have cancer but that may eventually happen although I keep reflux very well under control since these issues came up. Mine has been likely caused by a virus of some sort that damaged my nerves. And I also have eosinophilic esophagitis
