I met several Iranian women in Virginia. They were happy NOT to be in Iran. One was quite fashion conscious. She didn’t want others to learn she was B’hai, and feared shunning. On the other end of the different social groups, one wore no makeup and dressed with her hair covered. Both were free to associate and make choices of faiths. I want that for all women. But what’s with the digression of the protesters to choose to wear medical masks? They don’t actually want any identifiable features that people could recognize. Hypocrisy at its core.
