- On 7 December 1995, Diana, Princess of Wales spoke at an event for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint at London's Savoy Hotel - her first speech since her explosive interview with Martin Bashir. Appearing on a panel with Shadow Home Secretary Jack Straw, the princess spoke of the young people she had met on her numerous visits to Centrepoint and the various causes of youth homelessness before urging her audience to continue its work with the younger generation. At the end of the speech, Diana received a gift from two young people, both of whom wished the Princess of Wales a happy Christmas.
Diana's son, Prince William, Prince of Wales has taken up the cause of tackling homelessness that his mother championed. In June 2023, William and the Royal Foundation launched Homewards, a five-year programme aimed at demonstrating "that together it is possible to end homelessness: making it rare, brief, and unrepeated." On 7 September 2023, the Prince of Wales met with businesses leaders who have pledged to support the Homewards initiative during a visit to Dorset.

Heart wrenching to think she isnt here anymore. She deserved soooo much more than what she got😢. Miss her dearly still 26 years later❤❤❤❤
I feel you...I miss her dearly with my heart even though I wasn't alive. ❤❤😭😭
@@user-db1hw9lp3n me too my friend.😭😭😭
Chris Evans right now and see soon me and my life me look good with me hope so we go back and time we will talk tomorrow night and see if you can find out now
HRH Queen Diana
@user-db1hw9lp3 you are a Diana ist
What a beautiful, inspiring and compassionate lady she was ❤❤❤
She was such a beautiful angel! So sad we lost her!!
And this is why I adored her! She actually was interested and cared about those abandoned and rejected..she saw them..she heard their cries...she listened!
so do lots of people
She talked the talk but the Duke of Edinburgh did more for young people and gave them real chances. He didn’t just talk about it. Unfortunately he didn’t have Diana’s legs and blue eyes so he isn’t worshipped though of course he worked away quietly and wasn’t looking to be worshipped.
@@purplepoppyz what about Charles?
@@glen7318 same for Prince Charles as he was then. Among many causes he founded The Princes Trust and through his work with that alone he has helped millions of young people. Diana was a wealthy enough woman before she married Charles. Which charities did she found, volunteer for or support before she met Charles? Which AIDS patients did she comfort without ensuring the cameras were there to catch it? Before Diana married Charles she was running around Chelsea, shopping for designer gear and visiting establishments that wouldn’t allow you or I in, with her Sloan Rangers friends.
Princess Diana 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
May you rest in peace our lovely Diana
The queen of people's Hearts ❤️
My one and only Princess in heart😘😘😘
We miss you princess
Definitely. Everyone is important.
What a beautiful and caring Queen Princess Diana would have been!!
Thanks alot ❤
La verdadera Reyna de Inglaterra vivirás por siempre en nuestros corazones
Politicians these days should take a leaf or 2 out of Diana’s book.
what travel whtout a seat belt maybe?
Diana's death was one of the most senseless and needless wastes. I so wish she had the chance of seeing her grandchildren growing up. The world lost someone irreplaceable when she died.
@jimanderson5883
You clearly have a larger-than-life, warped perception of "famous" people. She was a media creation, someone who loved her life in the spotlight. Yes, she suffered a lot in her adult life, but she looked in the wrong places to heal herself. By no stretch of the imagination was she someone who was inspiring.
Agreed@@paulthomas281
Many people lose their life senselessly to drunk drivers every year. All of those people are irreplaceable.
No seat belt yes senseless on her part as well. Not a particularly bright girl.
Mama Huffpost, I am certainly thankful for all you are doing for me.
Princess Diana people
Bless you, princess Diana
Thursday 7th December 1995
Just 2 years before Diana died 😭❤️
One of the best speeches in history
Free hostels would solve all that in an instant
NO Hostels are NOT good enough!
The very minimum should be a bed sit so that each person has some privacy!
Privacy is meant to be a Human Right
@nicolemurphy2629
Those who don't want a hostel, don't need a hostel
@@michaelroth2783
That is treating people like animals.
Privacy is a Human Right.
@nicolemurphy2629
It's because of ideologists like you that they keep dying on the street
You apparently are not able to provide them with apartments
Hostels would save them, but for your personal ideology you refuse it
Thus you're their murderer
What a beautiful soul princess Diana had. I am so proud of the person prince Harry has become. He is a cip of the old bock. He is truly his mother's son. Walk talk GKH as know to your mother. Repeat you prince Harry for continuing your mother princess Diana's legacy. Walk tall Harry, no weapon formed against you shall prosper in Jesus Christ Name ❤💯🙏➕️
And today William follows his mother’s steps.
William he is big disappointment lazy just waiting to be crowned he didn’t do one % off what his mother was expected from him he is his dad is son
@@fufumaz809 whatever sugar 🥱
I actually followed them since I was 13 and everyone in Wales wanted me to become Queen at 15 but turned it down until I was 20. Princess Diana made this possible for me to become a great Queen. Woody.EXE was originally going to call me Queen Diana II but I didn’t want him disrespecting William and Harry’s mother and so, I became Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III
William is loser like his father ..she would be disappointed in him waiting just for crown to be put in his head like his stupid father
Willian e Kate são preguiçosos, só querem reinar.
26 years...i watch this now and think...by god if the winds of change had been different she wouldnt been a kick ass Politician...she had her finger on the pulse
Why did she leave early? And did you hear what the man said at the end?
❤
приятная женщина
👑♥️♥️♥️
At the beginning of the speech (3:38) you can see a fast pulse at the bottom of her neck; must have been wracked with nerves
...if only they had a chance.
why did she leave the stage at the end
Diana was not always the innocent victim she liked to portray herself
Harry is so much his dear Mum.
When will the UK learn to respect, hes doing what his mum would have done, if she weren't mur****D
Harrys like his mother alright .same personality same IQ.
@@peterlawrence6815 you are so kind!
@@VancouverIslandHippie thankyou
In the UK we tend to think respect should be earned and nothing Harry has done is worthy of respect. Not his attacks on his family, not his selling his fairy stories in his book, not his provable lies on Oprah, not his Netflix reality TV show, not his dressing as a Nazi, not his bullying whilst in the forces such as referring to a junior colleague as ‘Paki’, not his naked billiards, not his drunken falling out of nightclubs and attacking photographers. Maybe in your culture those things are respected. Not in ours.
Why is she looking so weirdly?
Because she is.
Perhaps diana could donate some of her own money and cut down on the designer dress buying.
Diana did donate her own money, but she did so privately as one is supposed to
@@glen7318 good what she donated was proberbly small change compared to what she had and would obtain the next week the public of England paid her well by just being a fashion diva
@@glen7318 her public paid money it's good that she gave a small percentage back
.
@@glen7318 if she did it secretly how come we know .Diana did nothing secretly. I'm sure she told the paparazzi 😂
@@glen7318 could not imagine her donating anything privately she would have rang the press to self promote .
