Thanks for sharing! I really enjoy hearing the history of vintage/ antique quilts. I’ve been quilting and finishing many vintage quilt tops for a friend of mine. Her grandmother made them.
My aunt stores all her quilts on her spare bedroom queen bed. She is a very talented quilter and she mostly hand quilts. Thanks for sharing this bed turning. ❤
Had no idea what bed turning was all about. Now I know! Very interesting. As a child, I had a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt that my grandma made. Fond memories! 💜
Wow, what a treat is see all those different versions of quilts through the years. And I have to say your quilt in the background is equally beautiful, and you are colour coordinated for the video. Thank you so much for sharing. 👍❤️🙂
What a treat to see these vintage quilts, Tiffany! I love the history and the styles that were prevalent over the decades! Thank you,,,you did good my girl👍🏻💕
Thank you so much Tiffany for sharing the bed turning event with all of us. I had never heard of that but it does make sense that back then they would have done that. I think it is a good idea to use even today! I loved seeing all of the beautiful quilts and hearing about the history of each one. The International quilt was so interesting and what a great idea to do a swap. Thanks again; this video will be one that I will watch again! Happy quilting……………..
Thank you. I have been fortunate enough to have been to many bed turnings. They are each a treat and surprise. They always made my fingers itch and sent to my sewing room to start a new quilt, or work on a wip.
very interesting Tiffany, have seen Eleanor Burns do a bed turning video i the past, but this was interesting to hear about the patterns and stories behind each quilt. We so need to label our quilts to give future people the history behind each one, i have read so many books , magazines with quilt stories /pictures where it says quilter/year unknown! So love the history behind all the old quilts.
Tiffany. Thank you for sharing the bed turning. Had no idea what it was. It was great seeing the different quilts and where they came from. Loved the last quilt squares from all around the world. Thanks again for sharing. Catch you on the next video.
Awesome thanks. Yes when I was little, I too was taught to crochet, embroidery, needlepoint and sew by hand. Traditional skills for the females besides cooking, cleaning and gardening. Unfortunately I don't recall having quilters in the family.
Thank you Tiffany and thank you Phyllis Barton and Lake Havasu City Quilters Guild for hosting an awesome Bed Turning! ❤ What a treasure Phyllis is your guild! Some stories and history I hadn't heard before. Love it love it 😀👍 Happy quilting everyone. Ps I got a chuckle out of Scott's chuckle when he heard about Grampas whiskers 😂
Thank you, Tiffany! That was fabulous and so educational. It makes me feel like a small part of a MUCH greater work from our past that will continue in to the future
