I use Instagram and etsy, after watching your video I decided to start posting on reddit again. I've just sold 2 paintings from my reddit post! Thankyou for your tips, very much appreciated.
I draw furry art lol It's surprising how generous they are, it's insane. They tip so generously and always love the stuff you make for them. If you are to do commission work, I do recommend the furry audience. Yes, it doesn't have to be adult orientated either it can be cute and cuddly art if you want. I don't touch in to adult orientated art at all, but I guess if you're old enough that's a very good income too (doesn't have to be furry, but you'll probably make the most from creating furry-orientated art)
I sell commissions for pet portraits (Yeh I know you're never doing those commissions again lol) I also have a youtube channel and a twitch, But right now i'm just in the process of building those :) I actually opened a redbubble shop, and actually sold something on there too already. But hey, it's a process :)
I'm not a coloured pencil artist, but I'll definitely be signing up for your class! I find traditional art videos to be extremely helpful as a digital artist.
DEFINITELY WOULD LOOOVE to see more videos like this from you! I've been working on building an audience but I need to work on my confidence that there is someone out there that would actually PAY for my art
Temiii I've been a bit out of the loop so currently on a catch up session with your vids. I'm so proud to see you come so far on this art channel from someone who's watched you from the very beginning. Although I'm not in the 'art world' per say I still find your content really interesting to watch and appreciate your gorgeous drawings! Forget about those idiot haters and keep doing your amazing work. Love Simran ❤😘 xx
I’m so glad you made this video , when I was in university my professor told me no one makes money from art . I’m so glad it is now known how wrong he was 😊
I just discovered your channel and I absolutely adore your transparency, and how easily you explain something and give examples of it. I can't wait to see more of your work and videos. You inspire a newbie, and hopeful artist like me
I'm a twitch commission artist. So making the emotes, banners and stuff for twitch streamers. They love supporting artists. Twitch is another platform. Its like RUclips with no editing needed just OBS, webcam, and a decent mic. Just communicate with other streamers big or small and eventually you'll grow pretty big. But you have to be involved... Another thing if you're into traditional art or mural paintings or branding (logos brochures etc) ask local restaurants or small businesses. Look into your local museums to see if they have showcasing days. You want exposure. Art isn't just creating, it's having great communication and building relationships with people. Also, you have to learn to take in denial. The artist route isn't the easiest, actually the most difficult if you don't play your cards right. But once you fail a couple times, you'll understand and work out what's better for you. You just have to trust the process.
I started art as a hobby and then started an art channel a few months back and I'm so happy I did and now u have motivated me to try and start selling my art
omggg you’re one of my fav art ytbers!!!! also i would really appreciate a commission video and like documenting your journeyof making a course 💖💖 lots of love and support 💖🌸
Love the structure of the video! Theres a bit of something for everyone and pros and cons really help understand things more clearer. I feel like ive spoken with a teacher that is giving me advice on what i could do with my future art 😅 Really great videos! Thank god that i found this channel! I can watch your videos over and over, straight to the point speaking and the varying tone makes it enjoyable to watch.
You can tell by my posts that this is the first day that I have watched your posts. I am inspired by your talks. I have made some money from my art accidentally. Thank you.
I would love to see a behind the scenes about making a Skill Share course! I have been wanting to create a course myself but am not sure wear to start. By the way I just found your channel recently and I love your personality and your content! 💖
Thank you so much for starting right out by saying none of these are get-rich-quick schemes. Way too many "how to make money" videos/articles/info graphics/etc. act like you can dive right in and build up steady income and it's So Easy!! I really appreciate your down-to-earth, sensible attitude. :D
I've already tried commissions and that's pretty difficult to do consistently. I definitely want to do the art shop thing where I sell prints and accessories. I'm trying to build enough of a portfolio to start with. It's just taking way longer than I hoped, since I work full time. 😩 I definitely feel enlightened from this video. I never understood the concept of freelance before, and might even look into it.
I adore your videos. You definitely have the gift of teaching. And you're a wonderful artist. I am learning a TON from you. You are definitely a blessing from God. Thank you!
Brand new sub here. Thank you for your wonderful videos. All of this was incredibly interesting and informative. I found you from your skin tone tutorial for pan pastel/colored pencils. My white people needed help. Ironically I have an easier time with dark skin (I'm Caucasian so you'd think it would be opposite.) Too much brown made them look like they fell asleep on a tanning bed and too much pink like they were sunburned. The introduction of greens and purples are things I'd never learned or thought about. You're making my life so much easier. (You also have a lovely speaking voice and accent. Perfect for teaching on RUclips.)
When you said that posting your artwork online will build you a portafolio. I'm glad, because am so longing to do this sis, I joined your channel. Thank you for creating this content Sis let me work on building the portfolio.
Ok but I just took my first commission a couple days ago and just finished it,. I just got suggested your channel and you're answering like literally every question I've been asking myself. Thank you so much ur incredible
Ooh I love art and I asked for this so I’m so excited to watch this! Btw in these videos sometimes I get to distracted on the masterpiece behind you! Lol!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm hoping to be able to make money off my art in the future. Currently, I am still in secondary school, but this is really something I want to do as soon as possible. I will use this video to show my parents that you can work for yourself as an artist. Also, I love the art in the background of the video.

13:40 PAHAHAHA! that was THE best placed ad i've seen in a youtube video. well done. Also thank you for making this video. i love making art, and would love to make some money from it so i can do it much more. i appreciate that you give more than one suggestion, and you explain BOTH the pros and cons. i've grown weary of people saying you "have" to do this or that in order to be successful. and a lot of those ways just aren't true to who i am or not realistic for how my life is set up...soooo i guess i just won't have success. but something about the way you've explained things here is making me more open to considering one (or 2) of these options that seem to fit me and my life. i practically live on youtube anyway, so i'm considering starting a channel....maybe(i'm SO nervous!).

Which means even if someone wants to pay me from abroad, they cannot pay me because paypal doesn't allow them to send it to india . But the tips are useful.
