Scott Englebright gives standing ovations too !!Amazing. Thanks from germany orthoman8.Phantastic and unique music dokuments esp. for Maynard and Kenton fans.
@enlightened1234 and @SAAMIAM99 : I don't want to say I know for sure that MF cycle breathed, but back in the day ( late 70s, early 80s ) when I would see MF Orchestra play on a regular basis ( 2-3x / year ) , I would sit up in the front row and it certainly looked like Maynard would pull the trick on occasion. I know what you mean about Chi and channelling energy from the ground up through the legs, pelvis, lungs, throat, mouth, lips and out through the horn ... pelvic thrusts and all ...
What is that technique he does during really long notes? I've seen Maynard do it, too. As if he's trying to push all the air he has out by moving his legs and hips? Anyone know?
Not sure Eric would need to cycle breath for that short a time ... but maybe. As far as MF , I'm pretty sure he cycle breathed on those long lip slurs ... it would be inhuman otherwise. Compressed oxygen cannisters in his cheeks ? Another cat who mastered cycle breathing was Hannibal Marvin Peterson.
thank you all!!! it was an amazing week, can't believe we got to perform all of Maynard's music in front of Boss himself, no pressure!!!!!
Эрик!!! да ты крут!!
Я бы так точно не смог!!))))
RUclips初期の動画だけどエリックさんの凄さを伝えるには十分な動画だと思う
Truly one of the best renditions of a truly difficult piece.
Completely fabulous. He's by far the most Maynard-like of all the performers at these fests.

It honestly doesn't get much better than that.
Scooter, the entire audience and all the trumpet section giving standing ovations. With the exception of Stan Mark - sounds about right ;)
I believe the trombone soloist is Alex Isles, a truly outstanding player.

Eric Miyashiro tem son mais poderoso que eu já escutei

Its difficult to see but I think Nick Lane is also on trombone. This band is scary good!

I think he was circular breathing.
Who's the trombone player giving a very able tribute to the late Randy Purcell?
randy Purcell on the way we were, which I'm sure you know he arranged for the band. oh man.
