    That's awesome! Since 2014, I'm usually in Paradise around 8-10 times a year and I've only stopped by your shop once. I'm going to have to remedy that this year.

    Love the tree! Just about to start my first carve, a simple bear...I think! Love in the Mendocino National Forest... lots of wood!

    How too heavy is the final carving? Do you prefer the smaller base? Or would a bulkier base offset the top weight?

      Top heavy

      The final carving is not that heavy, it's white pine I believe so there is not much top weight. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    hi chad , Have subscribed to your channel and your works are all amazing. I wouls like to ask if to start this art it needs two machine at least or just one . The first cut is geometrical and can it done with the carving bar? greetings from Italy-

    Beautiful work on the tree! Question....how was the tree attached to the coned stump?Screwed on??? Is the cone stump buried in the ground? Thanks

    Chad you really get the detail on the branches, that really makes the carving, is it best to hit it with a flame 🔥 first before adding paint ? Or just go ahead with paint 🎨. Thanks excellent video.

    I love your work! I want to start carving my own but have no idea where to start. Any tips for a beginner?

      Hi Haley, watching videos, getting comfortable with your chainsaw, use pine or a soft wood and just getting out and carve something. I learned everything by trial and error, I learned a lot by making mistakes. There's no right or wrong way to carve, everyone has their own style.
