  • @eliasyoussef47
    @eliasyoussef47 3 года назад +66

    There is so much that I love about this song:
    Eminem showing how he doubts himself and overthink stuff.
    Em opening up about how he felt like the world is attacking him.
    When he talks about how people criticized Infinite and made him come up with Slim Shady and how before that, during his childhood, he was always doubted and taught he won't amount to shit (which he also talks about in Legacy and Airplanes part 2).
    Em talking to the listeners that are going through the same stuff he went through. This really is a motivational song.
    Em showing how sad it makes him to look back at some of the things he did during his career and depressingly wondering if it's time for him to quit
    Fucking love this song.
    Best Friend is better though.

    I gotta be honest. I've always hated rap. I had a high & mighty attitude about it... "That shit ain't music. It's crap." I never even listened to any unless it was by mistake. I'd see Eminem on MTV back in the day and thought it was funny but not "music". But, one day I stumbled across your channel and saw the Killshot reaction. I was literally floored by the talent of Eminem. Just in the writing alone! Then I went down the rabbit hole. I have been watching all of the Eminem reaction videos of you breaking down all his songs. I am now a massive fan. I can't believe the stuff that man comes up with!
    This song (Guts over fear) actually made me tear up. His truth is almost heartbreaking at times. No wonder the guy is angry as fuck. Stuff from your childhood can fuck you up for life. Anyway, he is now someone I respect and admire and I love his MUSIC! Never thought I would say that about a rapper. Thanks for helping me along this journey!

      @McFlickers it's still not a good bar. The grain of salt part is good it goes well with his his song. The eat faces part is obviously a metaphor but not a good one still.

    OMG I’ve been subscribed to ur channel for so long I cant believe I missed this reaction! What u JUST said is EXACTLY what was said during an interview w/Em on Lil Wayne’s Tunechi Podcast & they BOTH said there’s times when they’re laying versus they gotta Google their own lyrics to make sure they didn’t say it before cuz both have had such a long great career but it’s crazy that u brought up Lil Wayne! He said the SAME THING u just said about Wayne… You gotta watch it!

    It's not a verse, it's a song and I know you have heard it but or me "not afraid" beats best friend verse even though best friend verse is out of this world and both have meaning to myself, not afraid wins but both are at the top of my playlist 🔥🔥

    It's so fitting and Em would probably love the idea that people think his best verse is best friend considering it's about proof (RIP) who literally encouraged him to rap when his confidence was low and he considered quiting similar to future and B Rabbit in 8 mile

    It’s more than just the cadence, he’s rhyming words with pieces of other words and rapping past the bars like Biggie used to do a lot. “ the media “ and “ made me the e (uh) “ media rhymes with me the e, he uses the first part of a different word (equivalent) to finish the rhyme. He does it through the whole song and many others.
    Edit: I use swipe text and had a wrong word in

    @ Stevieknight Have watched your reactions for years and I am an Eminem fan since day 1 but like you said before and I’m one of those people that would hear the song due too his reach then learn about true hip hop rap and how the rhyming scheme works and before I knew it I started listening to artists like Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, Drake and Yelawolf. It is true though as a white man myself Eminem introduced me to the world of hip hop which back in the day was seen as a black culture which Eminem definitely opened up the gateway for anyone to be able to rap no matter what colour, background or where you are from to prevent it. Watching your reactions was like unlocking the songs for non hip hop ears and you have done an amazing job and your playing a great part also in hip hop by doing this. I have much respect for you and in the future would like too hear more about you as a person and what inspired you to do what you do. Keep up the great work Stevie GOYT (Goat of RUclips)
