The Douk Douk always reminds me of Tintin. They are worthwhile knives though the large is far superior to the small. The handle on the small is a little petit in my hand.
Razor edge, indeed! I love the Douk-Douk as a pragmatic knife, with a touch of whimsy, meant to be used. So easy to stash in the pocket. Mine needed a good bit of cleaning when it showed up. I think there were traces of machine grease, cigarette ash, and metal filings on mine when it arrived. Nothing a good dose of Ballistol didn't take care of.
Happy Saturday Steve, I hope you & your missus had a good time. I am not familiar with the French Douk Douk brand, at least they look like pocket knives unlike Opinel which are only designed for gardening & cutting stinky runny French cheese, garlic & onions.
The history behind the Doux Doux is amazing. The man on the handle is a spirit-god of doom and destruction

It wouldn't surprise me. I saw footage of them being made...with a hammer.
When the cats away Steve will play😁 Hope you both had a good break 👍
My dearest and most beloved is very tolerant of my passions and indiscretions in this matter.
Strong back springs are getting harder to find. You will have to tear yourself away from the knives and give her indoors some attention Steve 🙂
Good advice mate, thanks! You're not wrong there. I don't know why certain much beloved manufacturers don't sort things out - no names BUCK knives.
Interesting Steve but I prefer Otter knives. 👍
Otter is probably my favourite slip joint manufacturer but I have got on very well with these French beauties!

I love runny French cheese, I think these better in some ways because they are easier to clean.
@@fadingmargins But do you go down to the cellar with Yvette to have a nibble on the Brie & Fromage ?
Those look as flat as my first ex
