- Is your Milk warm? Does your fridge not feel cold enough but your freezer is working? If your compressor is running correctly then you might have some other problems that are easy to fix! You could either have a frozen over coil in your fridge or you just need to install a new fan. If the fan is not working then it does not circulate the cold air across your food. Check out how to do this.

I ordered the part and replace it
Excellent video and excellent explanation
Thanks a million
I really appreciate you for shooting this video. It really solve our problems and saved us a lot of time.
There's a button on the control board in panel behind fridge that will put it in 1 of 3 test modes. mode 1 will run the fans even with door open so you can feel the air coming out the top
Just ordered the part. Great video and tips, thanks.
You just saved our Super Bowl Sunday. Thank you for this!
You do an excellent video presentation because you are cogent and very easy to follow!
Thanks for the video. Mine is an LFXC24726S that had this issue. A fan started making noise as it was hitting the ice buildup. I unplugged it for a day and put a fan in it with doors open, and towels to collect the water. Once everything was dry I made a felt pen mark on the fan blade, closed the door and let it run a couple minutes. I opened it up and fan had rotated. Reassembly completed and everything is back to where it needs to be! Thanks again!!!
nice job!
Dude you just saved us chunk of money. Thanks so much ! U rock! Mine is an LG to lfxc24726s/02 and it’s the same set up. Thanks again my man, just subscribed!
Glad I could help
Just fixed my LG fridge all thanks to you. Appreciate it!
Mine is an LFXC24726S that had this issue. Ordered the same fan and repaired my refrigerator. LG wanted $125 just to come and diagnose the issue. I agree that LG products are good for only 5 years. I also had to replace the racks in our washer after 5.4 years.
Excellent video with clear explanation. Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
LG fridges should not be purchased, point blank. They only last ~5 years.
Fridges used to last 30 years. This is bordering on fraud.
Agreed with you mine is going to 5 years old and broken since July still trying find the part
It's not just refrigerators it's all appliances I go to the scrap yard often the number of appliances that look new piled up is unreal .this is a environmental issue and the waste and wasted resources make me sick we live on a planet that's depleting it's resources and heating up the planet something needs to change or are grandchildren will be the ones suffering
Agreed…never again will I spend $3200 on an appliance that doesn’t even make it through the first 2 years without experiencing problems. Also, the hardware inside is very cheap and cracked within just a few months of purchasing.
Thanks you. Will check it out.
You are right on. Thanks for the video. Service tech has been out 4 or 5 times replaced EVERYTHING except that fan! Calling them tomorrow.
Glad to help
Awesome video thank you
Saved me a ton of time and $$ thank you so much
Thank you for your video. Mine has a different model though. They look extrememely similar. I just ordered the fan. Hopefully it gonna work.
Mine old fan number is EAU62863005 and can’t not find the order . Where did you order yours?
I can't wait for another time to thank you, this one is a good one thank you and once again
oh awesome, you are very welcome!
Awesome video!
Very helpful 👌
Awesome this was really helpful 😃
Glad it was helpful!
Good video thank you sir.
I just put all the pieces together and how long does it take to cool the fridge?
awesome , mine have the same problem
I am having this exact issue but where did you order this part from?
Great video, looks really simple. But where do I buy a replacement?
Thanks for the help, same problem different LG , this was exactly the problem , part is ordered tested motor with dc power supply, blades sound like they are scrubbing and too much resistance for such a small motor, I assume a new motor the blades will spin freely. Thanks for the help
Where did you order the part???
@@Hungryrain45618 Amazon
Thank you my brother
Before the blower replacement, did this affect the ice maker. For instance, made ice but very slowly.
Hi! How much does the fan cost?
Hey you mentioned briefly about moisture around 2 little seals. Well I fixed my evap fan it was broke and not working but I do have moisture and ice around those seals before I fixed evap fan and after fixing could those seals be bad or a different seal allowing air into fridge
I have the same refrigerator. But my freezer isn't get cold either. And the compressor is good. Would the part u changed effect the freezer too??
How do you replace the fan/part located behind the air filter?
Appreciate you sharing. I'm trying to buy broken fridges and repairing them. Would this fan affect the freezer also? I'm not getting any cold air in fridge or freezer
Is there an adapter from 4 electrical lines to 3 lines? As my previous comment stated of refrige has 4 lines but the new replacement fan only has 3 lines.
My fridge is model LFC22770ST. Is this the evaporator fan motor? Are you just replacing the fan and not the motor?
very good video
thanks
I have the same fridge and model and LG replaced the compressor and it worked fine for 5 months then they came back and replaced the Motherboard, Coil and evaporator fan the one that you replaced and still... The freezer works fine but the fridge does not cool .. I took that panel off to see if the fan turns on and it's working fine but the COIL does not cool at all... Any advice?? LG did refund my money but now I'm stuck with the fridge because there not going to to pick it up... So before I get rid of it I would like to try to fix it since it has almost all the main parts replaced.. Thanks for your time
Have exact same model doing exact same thing but my current fan is spinning everytime i tested it or opened the doors. Tried staggering my shelves and left vents open as much as i could, hopefully itll start cooling better because this fridge has been a nightmare
Hi i have purchased lg refrigerator side by side door . I connected to wifi and installed lg thinq app and done with smart dialysis . in recommendation section it is showing that "the humidity level at installation location is high" even though the climate out side is cool. Whats the reason for that
Thank you cuz my home warranty is trash, Umma just do it myself
My fan was making noise then fridge stopped cooling and freezer kept working. I unplugged it, removed all food from the fridge and freezer, let it defrost for a day, opened inside fridge's back panel and there was still a block of ice sitting on the coils. Removed that, wiped it clean, put together and it works perfectly fine without replacing the fan. Thank you for the idea.
Awesome video! It looks like I have the exact problem. Took the fan panel out and took a video. In 2 minutes the fan never turned. I fiddled with it a bit and actually did see it run for a couple tries. But now if I sneak up to it the fan doesn’t turn any more. Probably a bad fan then?
Yea most likely
Best appliance repair video I have ever seen- and I have watched at least 100. Great video and audio. Thanks.
Glad it helped
I have the kenmore version of this fridge. Same symptoms but when i push the test button on the board the fan does work. Fridge will only get down to 45° instead of the target 33°. Its almost as if the fridge thinks its getting to 33 because the compressor and fan will turn off
So. My compression seems to be working coils are not hot but my fridge is not cooling like urs maybe the same issue?
I’ve almost got the opposite problem. But it’s intermittent, maybe once or twice a week. The fan makes noise when it comes on. But not always. Some people have said online that it is icing up and the ice contacts the fan and letting it melt repairs it. It’s a clicking noise that only starts shortly after the doors are closed. I wonder if first the fan stops working which leads to the icing. Then the fan makes noise. Ignoring it overnight, or unplugging for a couple hours usually makes it go away. Maybe I’ll just order the fan
yep I think if it is not icing then it might be your fan.
TheRykerDane if it’s icing. How can I stop it from doing so?
@@yankkesrule My fan works though. Why wouldn't it blow? Freezer is great fridge doesn't.???
So what does it mean if u do have little bits of water by those seals by the door that u talked about?
Any other ideas? replaced the back wall with the new fan. Made sure the condenser is not froze over. Made sure all air vents outside are clean and not obstructed. Added new seals and freon/refrigerant. Freezer works perfect. Fridge is now at 61 degrees when I woke up today.
Did you figure out the problem ?
@@bruce7259 NO. Had repair place out 3 times... Replaced the fridge
Hi, I have LG French door not cooling freezer not working and the ice maker is not working too. I did clean the coil, fan and reset try to do test out nothing work. You have any idea what could go wrong?
Both lower freezer and upper refrigerator of my LG refrigerator do not have cold air. What is my problem? Controller Board or Condenser or fans? Thank you.
Lol. I have same 1! Yep. Same issue!
Also check your back motherboard and see if it is flashing. This could tell if the compressor is out
Our fridgerator fan has 4 electrical lines to the plug but the replacement fan has only 3 lines. What should I do?
Thank you great video! My fan was making a loud noise then it stopped completely and I got an “rF E” error on lcd panel. Then about an hour later fan stated up again all quiet and cooling now. Could there have been Ice buildup around the fan which melted!
Hi, my LG model is LFXC24726s/02 and have the symptoms exactly as you have described (freeze work but fridge is not cold, a lot of water on the bottom fridge, ice/condensation around the ice make door vent) There was a lot water right below the coil , so I use the stick to put through the drain hole and water was drained. However, when I run the diagnostic by pressing the test button on the motherboard, all the fans are running. Does that mean the fans are good and something else defected?
I have the same issue
Did you ever figure out the issue?
?
1. Possibly defrost system issue if it is iced over,
2. Evap Fan
3. Or control board
What about if the fridge is not running at all and all lights are off? Wall plug does work
How can we get hold of u, TheRykerDane?
Mine has ice inside that back panel. What does that mean?? It is up to 50 degrees.
We had a power outage and lost our food. When the power came back on bought more food but then it went bad as well because my LG refrigerator had the same problem. The freezer was working great but not the refrigerator. I took it apart to test my fan. It was working? I cleaned up all electrical connections then put it back together and everything is still working great months later(I didn't replace any parts) I thought the motor would bad or maybe have a dead spot like electric motors do on automotive fuel pumps and blower motors(hit with a hammer trick/caveman diagnostics) but hasn't had one problem? Maybe had a bad connection? I'm a professional auto technician/mechanic not a appliance repair man. But it seems very simple and straightforward.
yes that does sound odd. Maybe something with the solenoid by moving the fan motor?
It's still working like a champ? But hey I'll take it. I don't really want to buy a new refrigerator right now:)
Thanks for the info. My LG had ice built up on the coil. Other then defrosting manually, what is the fix?
Hey, having the same issue, what ended up being your solution?
before you do anything make sure there is no dust behind or under the fridge ! There is a vent on the back that will shut you down if it is covered with dust dog hair and whatever .
I had a ton back there! Still hasn't started back up but I'm sure that was some of the problem it was really clogged - thank you!
I can hear the motor running! I think it's going to start cooling, at least it wasn't running before. There was a ton of cat hair in the back from my two kitties! Thank you so much I think this!
Great video - have a Kenmore Pro, similar to your model. Fan is working but starting to become noisy - trying to locate the part, what is the description of the fan? exhaust fan motor, condenser fan motor ...?
This would be the evaporator fan
Thanks, RykerDane! Very well done presentation and video.
A simpler way to see if the fan is running is to take off the air filter, close the door Wait a few seconds and open it and if the fans running you'll see it slow down to a stop.
The air filter is high up; the bad fan was lower in the refrig.
Yes youncan see it slows down.
I have changed my fan motor but the fan still does not come on? Can it be the PC board
My evap fan is running, but when running its noisy. Is that normal? I couldn't hear the noise level of the fan from your phone camera recording.
How can we diagnose fan issue without taking it apart?
LG JUST NEEDS TO GIVE EVERYONE THEIR MONEY BACK AT THIS POINT
I think I have the same problem? The refrigerator section has warmed up to almost 50 degrees, but the freezer section has also warmed up to about 15 degrees. Does that mean both sections are having a problem or is the warm refrigerator section warming up the freezer section? Should I go ahead and check the fan?
I’m having the same issue!! Did you fix it?
@@josecotto4592 any luck?
Any luck?
@@josecotto4592 Nope, the repairman made it worse. Had to replace it.
@@jeff_9074 yes all fixed
I changed the compressor and now it’s good. It will take like 3 days to get back to normal. Also I did some adjustments on the back of the fridge so it can stay cooler
Hi there, what if the fan is working? Where do I check?
What's the price for the part? I found an LG fridge like this for $50 that the owner said it won't cool. Maybe same problem after I inspect it and if the part is cheap then it would be worth bying.
I have LG Refrigerator model LFC22770ST /01. Any video on 'Not ENOUGH cooling' would be greatly appreciated
I have the same fridge same problem. Did you get yours fixed and how?
@@marysphonaah4857 what was your issue?
Hey, having the same issue, what ended up being your solution?
Help with my LG signature please?
Lg has extended warranties to 5 years. So call them!
🤞 Many thanks in advance, giving this a go today! Can not afford another refrigerator, so again 👉 🤞
I have model : LMXS 28626 S, Could you tell me where to get this fan? I got the same problem the freezer works fine but the top part not cool enough.
online appliance website has everything
Hello! I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model GB2FHDXWB05, and only the freezer section is working. I think the refrigerator fan is not working, and I would like to change it. Can you guide me on the steps to follow?
Ok, it is going to be similar to removing a back panel and find the fan to install. You can find parts on appliance parts online. Also make sure your coils aren’t frozen up. So you might need to defrost it.
TheRykerDane
Thank you!
How much was the part?
Where did you order the part from and find the number? Mine just went. I hope it is not the compressor the freezer is not super cold but I don’t know if that can effects the freezer a little. I took all the meats to the freezer in the garage to save some money.
You can check an online appliance finder
Great video. Thanks man!
No problem!
My fridge is not cooling either but before I bought a fan replacement I checked to see if the fan was running and it was but it’s still not cooling. Could it be something else ? Please help.
Most likely is a Bad condensor and has leaked out the freon.
How old was this fridge, when the fan stopped working? Also, our defrost function doesn't seem to work as it should, as we have to remove the block of ice off the coils about 2 or 3 times a year. Not sure if our fridge has a defrost sensor or timer that needs to be replaced, and which parts they are? Thanks
Fridge is about 8-10 years. yes could be sensor or fan. Should not have to remove ice that much. Check on appliance parts finder
same diagnosis. good freezer. no fridge. I replaced the fan. still 52-56*. is the thermistor the next piece to replace?
Did you ever get your fridge issues worked out? Think I have the same issue. Fan appears to be working but fridge is getting warm still for some reason? LG replaced compressor and board also.
@@brianwilson7849 what was your fix? Same issues I'm having.
Hey, having the same issue, what ended up being your solution?
Ok,I had a HUGE chunk of ice around the evaporator on mine. Took 3 hours to melt with a hair dryer. Am I op fan will cause this issue? It also took 24 hours to get back to temp. All I need to do is replace the fan?
If your fan is not turning it will not send the cold air and circulate
If you have ice built up on the door where the vents are left door does the mean the van isn’t working ? I’m having same problem my fridge isn’t cooling and I have some ice built up on the left door where the vent holes are at
yes extra ice means the fan is not working probably to circulate
My LG freezer works fine but the fridge section only gets to about 47 degrees. I cleaned the coils at bottom of fridge, evaporator at fridge section had a block of ice on it so I defrosted that. Still only cools to 47deg. I tested the heating element and fan, both work.. and just changed the thermistor. No flashing lights at motherboard.. any other suggestions? Fridge is only 6yrs old. I know these have bad compressors, but wouldn't the freezer section not work also if that was the case?
Unless you have a small leak, then your refrigerant is low and not fully cooling. But also that would probably incur frost as well. So as long as your fans are blowing over your cold coils, everything would be working. Possibly could be the evaporator that is bad that is not kicking on the compressor to cool?
Never ever buy an LG refrigerator. They fail within 6 months and warranty repairs are long and you end up throwing food away and eat out costing you thousand. Trust me speaking from my son’s brand new LG refrigerator purchase less than 5 months ago
I only had my LG fridge for 2 years and the freezer failed, they don't make fridges like they used to
I was sure my problem was the fan after watching your video because my freezer works and I have the condensation in the area on the inside of the left door. However, I did the test you recommended of putting my phone inside and saw that the fan is working! Now what? Any ideas please? My husband is out of the country for two more weeks and I’m managing my three little ones by myself and now with no working fridge! Thank you.
The other option is that there is a frozen ice behind the back panel that needs to be defrosted. But also it could be the compressor too
@@TheRykerDane It was the compressor. It’s fixed now. Thanks for your reply.
@@vistabanoo That's interesting since the freezer was working. Thank you for following up on this. I have a new fan on the way but now I question my troubleshooting. LOL
@@tomholley6904 wgat ended up being your issue?
@@jeff_9074 Sorry to say I still haven't resolved my issue. I'm at a crossroad where I have to either keep throwing money at this really nice piece of crap or replace it and hope I don't end up in the same place 2 years from now!!
I have very similar fridge. Compressor running, cleaned coils, all i know, and reset. Fridge nor freezer will cool at all. Any ideas? Tried restarting multiple times.
Probably too late for you in this case but for the next lg sucker (yes I'm one of us) that is reading this, the cooling system is a sealed unit that is known to blow out the refrigerator condensor and leak the freon out. Lg will replace the parts for repair but we have to pay for the labor. 250 bones!! I'm on my 4th!!
The compressor has been changed twice now and both fans in the fridge and freezer have been changed and still no cold air blowing anymore. No body wants to check the wires to see if there is any power in the wires to see where it is dead, or where the power is at, of course i have a different model but still a french door.
Recently, the ice machine is not working, when i check it, the fan motor of the ice maker is not working, when i try unplug the temperature sensor of freezer, it works normally again. when I plug the temperature sensor of freezer back, it not work (but the Evaporator fan still work). Can you tell me why?
Well I hope the compressor is working correctly then.
My lg is not making ice. I noticed the ice cube tray stay with water as if is not cold enough to make the ice. I tried everything any suggestions? Thank you
that sounds like a compressor problem then if it is not getting cold enough unless the line is frozen and it is freezing up
Same Refrigerator and I have had this running for 12 hours and the evaporator in the refrigerated area isn't cold at all.
check your motherboard in the back for a flashing red light
@@TheRykerDane no flashing light
the fan it's not
Where did u order the fan

I took the back out but there was no fan....is it in the freezer???
My fridge failed again after being repaired from the LG class action lawsuit. Initial failure was Not the fan, but the compressor, line filter and they updated the motherboard or something. Had a company come out and run some tests and this time they said it was the in-line coolant filter that was clogged but allowing some by. Quoted me like $1200 to fix it and I gladly sent them away. I bought a new inline filter from Amazon for like $55 and I’m just waiting to have one of HVAC buddies come over and cut it in and see if it works. I was in LOVE with this fridge until it became a POS……
yep and so were all the other millions that bought this junk. Next to buy is probably Maytag, GE, or Whirlpool. They dont have the the issues that the LG and Samsungs do.
@@TheRykerDane Yes, we have a 31 CF LG, similar to your in video, we loved it till the 2nd year when all froze up in lower freezer coils, the fan to the ice maker in lower freezer, then again a year later, well that was it and we bought a midea 27 CF side by side refrigerator, at this pont I relly dont give a crap what country made it, it is better than the LG
What if both your fridge and freezer doesn't work?
