Is anyone else bothered by the childish tone of these gurus? I'm aware than there are young players out there, but to speak in such a carefree, silly way when a lot of adult players are frustrated with the quality and playability of the game is really inconsiderate.

The gurus are beyond frustrating. it would be one thing if when they teased something it led up to the hype, but when they tease just to let fans down, it’s annoying and seems deviant at this point.

It's like with the leaks (which are definitely on purpose atp), it's just annoying and repetitive
I miss when stuff are just announce out of the blue and being pleasantly surprised.
Now corporations gotta have marketing teams build out a hype cycle, drip feed us, and keep us on the edge for months... even for the littlest tiniest most insignificant of things. Everything is a big deal with big hype (not to mention being led down by the eventual actual product released, but that's a whole another story)
On a related note, EA at one point also proudly touted basements, ghosts, dishwashers, pools, infants, and washing machines coming to Sims 4 for free as a very big deal when EA should've included them from the start.
In my opinion, it's a distraction tactic to subvert the conversation from the criticism they've been getting (and rightly so) on to speculations. Basically, they're pandering to people's addiction to new stuff as the old stuff has gotten old fast, not to mention - IT'S STILL BROKEN. This is nothing more than manipulation.
@@NopWorks Even with all the unnecessary hype, teases, and leaks that are not really leaks, I am always happy and excited with what EA gives us, but yeah, I do really prefer to go back to the days where we told, straight up, what we were going to get, whether it was free, or in a paid pack, that way, I would have not worry if that particular digital content is going to fit the game, theme wise, or it's going to be disappointing.

Also the passive aggressive Guru calling us "silly billies" is just flat out stupid, lame and not to mention immature. It's clear as day we are getting tired of what they're doing to Sims 4, and all of the vagueness does nothing but bring more speculation and most importantly, skepticism.
It's a huge red flag, and I sure hope the guru improves their behavior for being this inconsiderate.

Second, I disagree with you, and so do probably 200 other people who liked the original comment to which I replied.
Third, I feel this is a form of manipulation to get people to forget how broken and crappy the game is. They have been getting too much bad criticism lately (well deserved imo) so they want to distract people and subvert the conversation from criticism to speculation instead . We are not (all) children, stop treating us like children.
And lastly, like you said, "if you aren't interested" in my opinion "you can just ignore it"!

It's probably more like 6 months of actual work. The concept is probably finalized 2 years earlier but then they rush and don't budget it out properly or playtest. Its the EA style!
Honestly, I’m tired of the feigned transparency and would prefer the Sims team stop trying social media engagement. It has gone extremely poorly since launch, and they don’t understand teasing gives false hope and also room for misunderstanding. Either be transparent and show us wtf you are building and doing to fix the game for real, or stop posting (Gurus not Matt).
Like i just wish we could get a 1-2 hour stream once a month going over what the team is working on and what quarter we can expect it. Doesn’t need to be a reveal of the packs themselves but more so their general theme. This would solve most issues with transparency but no they wanna be as vague and minimal as possible. This sounds like a feature where you can move mirrors up and down or something like that. To my knowledge we can’t do that. They’re probably also allowing us to layer more objects on walls without need bb.moveobjects enable.

I know I’m probably in the minority, but I’m a disabled simmer who doesn’t really want disability in the sims. They aren’t going to get it right, honestly probably CAN’T get it right (there’s such a huge range of disability and ability I don’t see them being able to get even close to encompassing it all), and they’ve already messed up even the small stuff. I can’t wear earrings with my hearing aids? Ridiculous. I’ll stick with my able bodied sims

While I am an understanding person and teasing is probably a part of their contract to promote the game , it really annoys me and ticks me off it feels like everyone at EA and the Sims is laughing in our faces about not liking the games quality and just are straight up ignoring long time players of the game
Every secret they had ended up being a disapointment. I’m not falling for it this time.
I am waiting for the end of Sims 4 so that all the wonderful modders out there will fix the game structure. Once they know there are no more patches they will fix the worst parts for us.
Its so depressing that modders are the ones who are actually making the game playable.I bet EA will find a way to ruin people's save files as a "parting gift" if they hear about TS4 players waiting for a modded revamp instead of buying TS5.

@@Diana__Simionit absolutely is not lol. We have had vibrating beds, stripper cakes, go go cages, there’s “woohoo” and drinking in the game..The Sims was always raunchy and mature, and even in Sims 4’s watered down state it is not a game meant for children.
Do you think they are giving color sliders for build mode? That could explain why they are filling a lot with base game and EP items making sure the slider works on all objects.
And we shouldn’t celebrate if they did either

I once really wanted sliders, but I don't even care anymore. If we got them, you know every time you used one, it would delete your item, or catch the house on fire, or crash your game or turn your whole garden into dirt piles. They don't know what they're doing. Everything is buggy. My Sims still want to get water every two minutes and when my Sims try to mount a horse, they fly off and return to the ground, both things they said were fixed. And that's just two of a thousand bugs.

I don’t think this has to do with building unless it’s making something more accessible to the sims. They hinted “it allows your SIMS to…” That tells me it’s probably more in the game play department

Somehow, I don't feel sorry for their workload. I'd feel some sympathy of that workload was justified by worthy content and fixes.
I feel like even if it was, someone’s probably gonna pay to access then and reupload them for free. But yeah, with the workload I feel it can only be justified if the coding was worse than Yandere Sim.
I feel bad for them because they have to follow EA's orders so EA can appease the shareholders. And theyre basically how EA is avoiding the backlash.

@@Elwaves2925 I will always fight and advocate for the workers, as much as we may dislike them, because its an issue for all of us. If you work, you have to have a basis of solidarity in work enviroment etc.

@@elvingearmasterirma7241 In most other cases I'd agree with you about advocating for the workers, they're at the crappy end of the stick. Ubisoft in particular comes to mind for that.
Seeing as the Maxis that made the Sims franchise great is either gone, or all but gone, I definitely think that EA has put it's own stooges in place who have long been drinking the Kool-Aid. No proof of it of course but there have been enough changes over the years to show evidence of it, along with the words and actions of the team themselves.
It's very difficult to get hyped with upcoming packs. I'm still not happy with the fact that they have not done enough fixes with For Rent.
For rent? Well.... They still haven't fixed dine out. Sooo... yeah.

The last 'hype', the battle pass was very underwhelming. The sims team are very effective at teaching players to keep their expectations as low as possible.
I generally don't like being teased, and definitely not over and over again with every release. It is not exciting, just terribly frustrating.
What do y’all wanna bet it’s not even a gameplay mechanic and it’s just gonna be something like oh sims can design items with any color now!” When it’s just. Them testing the color wheels out. That would be something but… not like they make it exciting. It’s just them shaking a box with keys inside at us not even jingling the keys just full on shaking a box like “oh what is it you can’t know yet silly Billy!”
If it’s a “build your own skyscraper apartment” type of thing, imma be mad. Because that’s what it should have been in the first place and they only half fixed it with the recent apartment updates

Hotels and resorts should have been part of the For Rent DLC. I have been waiting for ages for bands or live concerts like in the Sims 3
They still haven't updated Planet Honey Pop. Since they released City Living long before foundations were added, they had to make the stage by making it so the rest of the lot is on the ground instead of a flooring. It's fine most of the time, but if you ever go during winter, it causes the "floor" to be covered in snow.

Sims 2 style cars basegame update with mechanic career with the option to give car advice and business card and sims who like driving receptive to it and the ones who don’t is not. The only update that will get me off 3 and back on 4. Until then I’ll keep dreaming 🙄

idk if it is just me but i get more hyped for things that are actually clear on what they are going to be. im not into this whole mystery shit with sims because it seems like they let us down almost everytime. so at this point im just not even going to bother getting hyped with it. curious? yes, but there is just no excitement until i see what it is.
It honestly makes me angry coz everyone is going to suggest amazing ideas and then what we get will be unambitious and broken.
They(EA) haven’t fixed the stuff that’s already out like Wedding Stories!
This doesn't hype me up. It annoys me. Not just the grade school teasing that usually leads to a disappointment, but the fact that a team of "professionals" work for two years on a pack and it still is seriously always lacking gameplay and is buggy as hell. What other industry can do that? Any other product that was hyped for two years and then fell so flat at launch would see the team fired with management apologizing to the customers. Not EA. They just have the team rinse and repeat with even worse packs. Why is it modders can do far far better gameplay mods than a team of "professionals" and in much less time? Maybe EA should clean house and hire some of the super talented modders so we have packs that simmers are excited about again and that actually work.
It probably won't be it, but something like color wheel is a feature that does effect base game and all expansions, stuff packs, kits, etc. in a way.
I honestly don’t care and I don’t think any one does. EA is clearly trying to get people excited but after the update that broke everything for everyone a lot of people have quit or play less often. The cutesy tone is annoying at best and insulting at worst considering it’s primarily adults not children who is seeing the social media. I’m guessing this is like a master list of all collectibles. I’ve been working on completing all aspirations, careers, skills, collections, and basically doing everything. Based on the what they are saying it sounds like something similar. Plus it has a picture of what looks like “cursed to-do list” which would be quite fitting for something like this.
The only thing that would get me back to playing the Sims 4 would be a complete revamp and foundational fix of the entire game. Better pack integration and fixing the bugs that make the game unplayable. Also a massive refund or free stuff for everyone that has bought their shit over the years. I also wish they could purge their company of incompetent people so that packs and content worked properly at release. They should also stop treating their players like beta testers. FFS.
maybe they'll increase how many floors a building has..since the lot size she mentioned and said that the lot has a lot of objects on it ..
I don't think it'll be a big feature in the grand scheme of things, it's probably going to be a cool feature unlike the whole sign in reward scheme or the shopping cart nonsense, but I might be wrong. it could be something that makes the game even more unplayable/unenjoyable. like can we even trust the sims team right now with all the bugs and the other issues we've probably had in a very long time?
Something I’ve been begging for is a multi-lot type system (having a lot be a pool, spa, and bar for example). If it was something like that, it would make sense needing to check every thing in every pack- considering some of the lot types come with specific packs.
This would also be good set up for hotels/resorts/malls because you would need the capability to do multiple things on a lot!
I'm wondering how Simmers still get excited about sim guru teasers. The new feature, update, fix is Always disappointing.
If they aren't fixing EP that have been broken since launch, there's no being excited about something else new because it's going to break your game even more and that's a literal fact. It's an insult to the player base, the childish tone in replies to people is disturbing (it reminds me of a game called "We Happy Few", where the world just looks completely different to reality to EA and those associated) and shallow, just like The Sims 4.
The update screwed up so much CC and mods. I doubt whether it actually made the game any faster.
I think this is more likely something like a new occult, where they'd have to make sure that for example, a fairy could still use a normal bed.

maybe they're giving us more clutter slots, redoing the placement system with small/clutter objects & appliances, or maybe more detailed interactions with objects instead of walking up to things and making the same grabbing animation every time. since the objects they're testing are from both base game and every pack on a kind of small lot those are my only guesses
I always wanted the basements to be inside the foundation and being able to place windows and doors there. I think this could be it and it would be useful for a car update too to create garages later!
I gave up trying to solve that cryptogram after realizing most people don’t rattle off that many seven-letter words in one sentence.😂 PS… I hope they change the bit where horses, cats, and dogs are part of your household limit, AND if you could go ride a horse without having to buy it.
It’s probably just the ability to change light colors in build mode. While a good thing in and of itself, it is not necessarily groundbreaking, or requiring all this fluff. Granted this is just speculation, but I feel that this “big and massive” update will be something like this, given their history.

@@ShadoeLandman I thought that too, but everything is at the highest settings and I have a decent system. I thought it was just me until I saw another Simmer on RUclips wondering why their trees were looking flat. I've never had this issue before the update.

Multi functional lots using for rent coding most likely however what i strongly wanna mannifest in game is graphic updates to ALL basegame including debug and worlds. Then move on in order of release tackling bugs along the way, more colour swatches including CAS.
