I agree. I think it's because it the sound of rain falling outside, as opposed to just recording the rain outside. It makes you feel like you are in a comfortable warm indoor space, enjoying the rain outside.

Yesterday was a bright sunny day when I took a nap listening to this. I was convinced when I woke up that the weather must have changed to a rain/thunder storm, but no. It was all this wonderful video . The colors are perfect, so appealing.
I realize that the image in this video is simulated but, if you all had to guess where in the world such a place would be... what would you guess? The walls of the bedroom being open to the air make me think it is someplace fairly warm but cool enough to have little concern of flying pests. The tree-lined mountain in the background and the healthy green grass and foliage just outside would show it sees a regular visit of rain and is not desert or savannah. The bushes give a look of something tropical, but the pine-like trees outside would indicate somewhere with a cooler climate, rather than tropical. This points toward being somewhere with a strong weather pattern that allows alternating drafts of warm and cool to create a mostly temperate climate. The pattern/design on the accordion walls looks Moroccan, Middle Eastern or (more probably) a country on the Bay of Bengal or South China Sea. Based on all these factors, I would make an educated guess of it being somewhere in South Korea or Japan - or perhaps, at a stretch, New Zealand.
I love the rain sound and that the thunder isn’t too loud. It’s perfect to fall asleep with!! Some of the rain and thunder videos have such loud thunder that they wake me up; but not this one. Thanks!!

Ok so I play this video every night in my sound bar and I love it I live in Florida so just about every other day we've been getting hard rain but not as soothing as this but my children jump up and look outside thinking it's raining because of how real the video sounds playing through surround sound.

When I was about 8 and my brother was 3, my mom was so afraid of thunderstorms. My dad didn’t want us to be, so every time it would thunder and lighting, my dad would tell us Togo get our pillows and a blanket. We would lay in front of the screen door and watch it and listen to the rain. I love listening to the rain. It still helps me fall asleep. We weren’t rich, but we had great parents….. wouldn’t trade them for anything. I’m 74 and my brother is 69. My parents are both gone now, miss them both a lot. 💦💦⚡️💦💦⚡️💦💦
