I feel like Luna owned Kcon this year. From her little bit of Arirang to FS to her duet with Taeil and then all of the f(x) songs, she was on stage SO MUCH and commanded every minute of it
Which is funny considering EDM is a huge staple in Kpop and both foregin and domestic EDM songs have topped the charts in Korea multiple times before. During the five years I lived there EDM was very much alive. I think it's more of the fact that they don't like idols doing EDM music. To the public there's always a huge divide between what they consider 'idol music' and 'public friendly music'. Idol music is often more marginalized and 'flashy'. While as before (since like late 2009) idol music has been music more dubstep-y/ high volume EDM to enhance the 'flashy-ness' (like what was done with hip hop) only recently has house and more tropical/chill EDM made its way into the idol industry (most notibly SM with Luna, Tiffany, Taemin, Jonghyun, and Taeyeon's recent solo albums as well as f(x)'s recent releases). Just as many things within the idol industry; it takes a while for something new to be accepted by the public. While they may listen to and enjoy EDM from foriegn artists, they look to idol music for more catchy and upbeat tunes (like Gfriend, Twice, IOI, etc.). I think it's a common misconception amongst foreign kpop fans that EDM and hip hop isn't popular in Korea; especially with Hip Hop/ EDM acts like Bigbang, 2NE1, and otherpopular soloists dominating the charts and hip hop based shows like Show Me The Money and Unpretty Rapstar sweeping the nation. In reality idol music is just stigmatized. Regular idols who haven't been around forever or have a HUGE fanbase barely make it into the top 10 on most charts (they tend to do well within the first 24 hours when fans are streaming and downloading on repeat but drop off wihthin the week). And those that don't fit those qualifications and do top the charts often have a more by-the-book idol song that the public is used to hearing from idol groups. Also in the case of Luna it doesn't help that although f(x) is a wildly popular girl group both domestically and overseas, their fanbase is also wildly divided. Those fans that showed up to support Amber's solo endevors, or fans that supported Krystal or Victoria's acting careers, aren't necessarilly the same fans that showed up to support Luna. Bcs comeback after comeback they always used same team. Jonghyun's dancers is taemin and snsd's dancers, Luna's dancer also fx's dancer, tvxq's dancer also boa's dancer..
For example, Kasper. Kasper has been SNSD's backup dancer and also helped with TTS. He also is one of the choreographers for EXO. SM got the same crew.

Luna totally nailed it! Im so happy her so debut album was doing well on billboard chart (placed on number 2 or 3 worldwide). And i love this freaking amazing choreo!!!
Hahahah the shouts were super loud they toned it down so you could hear the song. People shouted througout the song and during the dance break, people were like "LUNA LUNA LUNA"

That's okay though, maybe because of hard choreography she chose to focus on the dance instead of straining herself with singing. Ah, but still I want to see her perform live :')
