Badass video man I like your ambition to make things swap. I have 3 of the gmt800 series 2 trucks 04,06 2500hd 02 Tahoe. Did a full Escalade interior swap including full dash and it blows me away how different they are the whole wiring and all switches are different. I’ve been wanting to put a stingray steering wheel and the Tahoe out of one of the new Corvettes so I went and found one of the splines and chopped it off and I’m going to do the same thing like you did. I never messed with the clock spring in the airbag things on the O2. I just pulled the dash cluster and popped the bulb for the airbag lol so the light isn’t on anymore. But I’ve checked through countless forms online and all you see on there is people writing bs. Answering your questions with well I had a buddy that did this or somebody that did that but they don’t have any experience on the subject so it’s like man why are you even commenting wasting my time giving me some dumb information there’s no good or the people they can’t be done no way no how I had one of the admin’s tell me that about putting those seats in and I was like yeah right i’ll figure it out the work because when you flip them over and look at both of them all of the motors and set up are the exact same plugs that go into motor so I got to tear into the wiring on it and is the same just adding more shiz to the 03-06 but I got them to work so if you want it you can figure it out. Yeah man it’s amazing how similar these trucks all are but then again so different. You’re are absolutely right same thing when I was looking for stuff a lot of bs and no direct answers. Respect. Hard job. Finished to Completion.. well done. However next time simply extract the splined female portion that goes over this shaft you swapped. Simply cut out both wheels center's and swap the one over to weld it. Easy easy easy. An hour tops

mine has like a slight wiggle to it nothing crazy tho so if its something like that then yeah! I just made sure everything was tight and so far its good!
Anyone need a airbag 03+ with 1 connector for this swap i have 1 available, also your able to make the steeringwheels controls work from the 03+ on the 01 with aftermaket radio splicing into the clock spring
Aint no way u welding that if it breaks u gonna learn the hard way there guys dont listen to these to fools they gonna get u in a cartruck wreck just swap the damn whole steering column

don't the air bags from the HD trucks only have one wire? Maybe you can use one of those. Agearhead for life did the same awap.

Edit: I had the same problem. I thought about welding the spline from old wheel onto new but this looks a lot cleaner

it was different but it is possible either changing the clock spring or getting the airbag that matches the one you have!
So you took a factory steering wheel off and replaced with another factory steering wheel? All that for just a plain factory wheel? I don’t get it
