This video...where do I start? I worked on this for over 13 months! That makes it special in a way that none of my other videos have ever been. This was the first Star Wars video I ever started. Like I started this before I did my The Clone Wars rewatch that. And it gave me so much trouble. My old computer could not handle the big movie files, so for half a year working on this was basically impossible. But I still managed to edit about one minute of this spread over these months. I think I have listened to this song more often than anyone should because I wasn’t gonna give up on this video! And now, 13 months later I did it. I actually finished it!
Looking back to December 2019 is crazy! It feels like I started this video in another lifetime. Back then I was still studying history. I was 19. I was not having any plans or hopes for this channel. My mental health was about to have the worst downfall in my life and was shutting myself off from every social interaction.
And now everything has changed. I feel like I truly a different person now. This last year has taught me so much about myself, my dreams, and my abilities.
But you all are here for Anakin and not my life story so back to the video. Since I have been working on it for a long time it really is a blend of my editing styles over the last month. The title card is so different from what I am doing now but I kept it. That was the first thing I put in and for me, it is a little reminder of how long I have been working on this!
I started this before I had The Clone Wars on my computer and I always intended for it to be movie-only. I didn't really want to change that but I did put in Ahsoka's line from The Mandolorian. I mean how could I not? It fitted in there so well and now that we have it deserves to be in an Anakin edit. Also, that is my little "Hey Ahsoka exists and was an important part of Anakin's life" reference. (If she gets even just mentioned in like a flashback in the Kenobi series I am going to lose it! Hearing Hayden or Ewan talking about her sfjgbsdfhbydjbuibdgsdbguidsg)
So I know I am not the first person to use this song for Anakin. But when I picked it out I did not think about that and at the time I realized that it is a popular song for Anakin (who can blame us? it is perfect) I was already deep into the video. So yeah...I just went with the song regardless. I still think I made my own thing and honestly I am so damn proud of this video!
It is not as impactful or tries to get a message across like other videos I did. But it still has such a special place in my heart! This video is my baby!
A lot of videos I do with other people in mind but this one was for me. I am sharing it because I think others will like it too. But this one I truly made for me. This one is for 10-year old little Nicole who cried when she saw ROTS for the first time and how had lightsaber duels with her brother. Little Nicole who tried to get her friends to watch Star Wars and never succeeded (James, I haven't lost hope yet, someday you will watch these movies with me!).

I just realised Luke was there when Padme said "I know there's still good in him". despite him only being a baby and Kenobi insisting Anakin was lost, Luke still ended up believing the same as his mother and redeemed Vader. very poetic...
I always thought that Luke was like Padmé and Leia like Anakin and that Luke brought him back because Vader saw Padmé in him. but I never realized that he was actually there when Padmé said these things to Obi-Wan 😭
I believe that is what Luke internalized about his mother, while Leia remembered how she looked, if only slightly.

Okay for some reason that line in that context was just sad😭

This was beautiful. I love that you started with Obi-Wan telling Luke about Anakin. The parallels of the prequels and originals were perfect. Ahsoka's lines about him from the Mandalorian were perfect, and perfectly placed. Another emotional video, and I loved it.

This is so great! First off, it makes it much better that this was like the first video you did, because coming back and finishing something you started 13 months ago is just hard, but it's amazing! I love that the video means so much to you, and I thought the reference to 10-year old Nicole was hilarious and heartwarming. The storytelling here is top-notch! I love the quotes that are put up on the screen, and how you tell Anakin's story chronologically with references to the past along the way. Also 2:55-2:59 was so cool! It's a perfect example of why your edits stand out as being so great; the CONNECTIONS you make are insane! I could go on forever about this video, but the description and the video just makes me happy! 😊 I have been watching Anakin edits recently because I'm working on one (I watch edits of the character I'm currently editing sometimes; it helps) so this was perfect timing! Great tribute to the best character by a great vidder! 🤗🙌

Can we take a second to admire how PERFECT THIS VIDEO IS. I love how you brought Padmé, Obi-Wan, Shmi Skywalker, the voice of Ahsoka and the person who brought Anakin back to the lights slide, Luke Skywalker. I also Love all of the quotes you use for this video, they matched so well, I can’t believe it. I have seen so many “Anakin Skywalker Broken Crown” videos but none of those were on the same level as this one, AMAZING JOB
Also, I love how in the video where Anakin says “I can’t live without her” you put that audio above Anakin Skywalker choking her because he was so mad.
Also, did you know that when Palpatine told Vader that Vader killed Padmé in his Anger, Then Vader says She was alive I felt it, for all his life as vader he thought that how he killed the love of his life was when he force choked Padmé on Mustafar. (Sorry for the Star Wars fact)
But Most importantly this is a MASTERPIECE and was worth the 13 month wait, AMAZING WORK❤️
Thank you so much! Of course I know :) And honestly I still believe that Palpatine drained Padmé using the dark side and that is a big reason why she died.
@@Lilylilie I believe that to, I mean Padmé’s death and Vader’s rises timing was to perfect, and how would Palpatine know Padmé was dead, Palpatine isn’t one to lie about things and Padmé was like a torn on his side so he had to get rid of her. Also, Vader was burned and had to lims, how could her survive that, Palpatine used the force to drain Padmé’s life force and gave it to Anakin, or something like that. I mean I makes sense If Padmé wasn’t dead Vader would go looking for her to make sure she was ok, so Palpatine needed Padmé dead to complete the last stage of the Rise of Darth Vader
@@p.o.s.starwarsedits7974 He even went out of his way to give the clones instructions to kill Ahsoka even tho she is not a Jedi and disagrees with the Order because he knew that Ahsoka is important for Anakin's emotional well being. So there is no way he would leave Padmé alive! And I think that Palpatine's abilities totally could do that! it also seems very darks side to me that he can only save a life by taking another. I just wonder if he knew that the babies survived...
@@Lilylilie I don’t think Palpatine knew that Luke and Leia survived and didn’t die with Padmé. But he surely new that they survived in A New Hope with Luke Skywalker blowing up the Death Star. But going on with Palpatine being a true Sith Loard, Palpatine gave the clones a order to Kill Darth Maul, Maul isn’t a Jedi but is a threat to Palpatines power, Maul even said that he wanted Anakin on Mandalore so he could kill Palpatines was of getting the Sith to rise. Palpatine dose what ever it takes to win anything, that’s why in the Phantom Menace when ever Padmé made a decision that he didn’t like cause it could ruin his plan to rule the Galaxy and take down the Jedi, he seemed so annoyed at her. I think the 2nd reason he killed Padmé was because he underestimated her before. The first time was when she was Queen in Episode 1, she said Padmé was young and foolish, but she got her planet back and made things better for Naboo, so he possibly couldn’t imagine happen to the galaxy if Padmé survived, I think she would be apart of the Rebel Alliance and would of been a bigger threat to him and his power, that’s why he killed her, so no one to over power him because if it was anyone from the Republic, it’s Padmé Amidala
