    Love your blog. You packed in tons of useful information. This is the fourth time I watched it since you posted it and I get something out of it every time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I bought my FXE in June and have put in about 2400 miles on it in about three months. Other than a firmware update, it has been trouble free. Never expected to get so much joy out of it at my tender age of 62. This is my first and most likely my very last bike before I retire from riding. Please do another blog at your next milestone.

    Just have to say its so cool to see you riding through OKC and surrounding areas. I travel these same roads everyday and its cool to see the local dealers on your channel as well. I currently have a 21 RGS and a 16 CVO Prostreet Breakout. I'm not sure I'm ready for all of this electric stuff but its coming whether we like it or not and as long as you're on 2 wheels who cares what you ride. Stay safe out here and looking forward to more videos!

      The audio quality on this review is very good --- what is your helmet and or microphone combination? I got an FXE last month and realized what a loud helmet I have, but never knew it.

    I love Zero but man, you cannot get a deal on one anywhere near me, closest dealers to me are 15k out the door for the FX 7.2 and the DSR 14.4 is 20k, I paid $14k for my 2020 Africa Twin OTD, unfair comparison but that is reality. All that being said, I LOVE electric motorcycles and hope I don't get too old before they become more readily available at reasonable prices.

      I really have wanted an electric bike as it would be the ultimate hooligan bike, but the colder weather drawbacks and insane price point for the bare bones model, I've convinced myself that now is not the time to buy one. Their upgrade paywall is pretty scummy and gives me another excuse to not buy from them

    I've watched a video on a belt change and you dont have to take the back wheel off but you do have to undo the swing arm to squeeze the new belt through..(loosen the wheel ailments) then reset the tension..the video was out in the field to and he jacked the bike up with a stick..Genius..✌️..cool video man.

    I live in north Edmond. Cool to see you ride past my neighborhood. Do you do any group rides or anything? I bought my bike last year and I really don't know people who ride around here.

    Love my Zero FX which I've had for four years, but the company really sucks. Even when you take it to an authorized dealer, zero won't ship parts for months!

    If it were me I'd get a NC750 DCT (used) for your commute. FXE doesn't seem the best on freeway/highway

    Interesting review. Seems like a solid bike. Not heavy enough for gusty scenarios, but that’s life with lightweight bikes!
    I bought a vanvan after your review - I’m very happy with it - but I get blown around on windy days.

      Totally dreading winter winds. I've had the FXE for a year now, long enough to forget I started riding it in winter when the wind threw me around all the time.

    I've never own a motorcycle , although I used to ride a 125cc dirt bike when I was 16-17 years old , I am 40 now and I want one just for weekend rides on scenic back roads. I really want one of these electric motorbikes because I do not want the engine noise, but the price is still too high for what they are in regards to range in my opinion. I can get a beast of a petrol motorcycle for 15k , I hope the technology evolves into more range and less expensive before I get older. Awesome video by the way.

      Thanks! I hope you join in the wind soon! I do wish the tech would get better but unlike a car the weight of batteries cannot be held to get the range for now. And humans are a bit of a brick when looking at aerodynamics. One day it won't matter, but these early machines it does.

      For offroad trails get a used zero fx 2018 or younger around 7k... for realy good range get an energica experia .. and buy it for tour company so you get tax reduction and save on income rax which qill make it cost aroun 15k !! And you will have a beast !!! (Minimum130mls highway range but more like 280mls trail range !!! )

    Thanks for the Video, I too ride my Zero S 7.2kwh to work but no freeways involved. I have a question for you; the other day I was riding and I ran low on juice so I went to a EV charging station and plugged in and got an 85% charge through my charge tank (it took about 40 minutes). I then proceed to get on the freeway and do 70mph for the next 20miles near the end of the ride the battery temperature light came on. I live in Phoenix area and it was about 90'F at the time. I'm assuming because I rapidly charged and then rapidly discharged it caused the temperature situation. Have you seen anything similar with your highway miles? I was a little disappointed because I would love to try and do some longer distance riding but if I can't charge and discharge in a timely fashion then the bike will have to be used for short rides only.

      I have not at this time. I've only had on thermal warning due to flogging it at full throttle with a passenger. I might know more in an Oklahoma summer but so far we haven't hit 90.

      Hey Michael so the thing is with ebikes or motorcycles unless you have everything watercooled they will over heat pretty quick above 85f

      I live in Phoenix too, and I am looking at getting a bike like this one to commute for work. Are you able to ride your Zero in the summer time?

      @@Shamano37 hey I'm in Phoenix too. It comes down to ams the controller is putting out and how big your motor is. If your commute is 20 miles each way at 40-50 mph you will be fn at 100f.. but if your spending 20k on a zero, spend a bit more on a energica evo. They are completely water cooled and what bigger battery

      I also like I can take the Zero on small dirt trails, nothing crazy but gives some more fun

    I have a very noob question when you turn off the bike should you just flip the key off without turning the engine cut-off switch or should the engine cut-off be flipped too? I just got mine and am not sure what is best.

      For yourself you dont need to do this .. and you will get used to it being life all the time ... however for other people or if you stand around in a group .. please flip the emergency switch ...

    Great vid. Very informative. So hey was wondering how the insurance prices are on electric bikes. Do you feel that you are getting "price gouged"? You know with silly things that come up like "its new technology". Was wondering; just from what i was seeing with TESLA's I hear they were just getting abused by insurance co's; hence they came up with there own (TESLA) insurance. Any info on that? Seems the Zero FXE gets around 46hp, lowish on the performance end concerning motorcycles so it should be reasonable, is that the case? -Cheers

      move to fla , no insurance is needed to ride bikes. just watch out for the 80-90 yrold drivers 😅

    Thankyou for touching on the zero service side ... i have my fx for 7 years .. my charger was replaced by them i replaced my dc dc miself . And 4 belts because i ride rough with it .. but now one of my batt bms is broken and they wont do anyrhing !!! I did find a spare bms but zero doesnt want to give the code of the contactor ... ! Still looking for a way in .. i would pay anybody $100 if they can suply me this number .. still love my 2014fx

    I'm not against electric motorcycles, but I don't think I'm ready to get one yet. Maybe one day in the future.

      I didn't think I was ready to do it, either, but I have to say i'm really happy i did buy an FX. As a commuter and backroads blaster, it is phenomenal and as a an off road bike, it also does very well. I will say this: I do still ask myself if I would rather have a crf450l, and the answer is still yes. But you can't find those anywhere, so it doesn't really matter. Haha. But for everyday riding and cruising around town, the Zero FX/FXS/FXE is an amazing choice.

    I dont ride motorcycles, but used to ride family dirt bikes. Looking at getting this bike to commute for work just in the city, you think this would be a good entry for someone who doesn't ride motorcycles? Probably wouldn't ever ride on freeway

      I'd still take a safety course put it's easy to ride since there's no clutch or anything else involved. Just note midrange punch is sudden and above average and could lead to a slide out.

      @@RabidHedgehog thanks, I will have to look for one in my area. I jumped on a buddies Sur Ron bike and that was a lot of fun, but thats more for just on dirt roads. Does this Zero FXE do well on dirt roads?

    You have a bad motor bearing causing that wobbly sound at low rpm get the motor replaced while you have warranty it’ll get progressively worse

    That means I need bigger zero bike for my 53 one way miles to work? 106 miles daily.

      You'd need possibly a little bigger capacity one than the FXE it depends on your stop go ratio, if it's more stop and go it'll do over 70. But if it's highway that's too far.

    Boy I can tell you are driving in Oklahoma. I live in Texas, so I have driven around OK a decent amount, and the roads in that state are always the worst of the states in that South Central US region.

    if you use it for commute comfort (no engine heat, vibrations, shifting, etc.) it makes sense. If you ride it to save money on gas, fail. You would have to travel 50,000 miles and have the electricity for free just to get back the price difference compared to buying a new Suzuki SV 650. (I did not calculate in the price of the 2 external chargers). Once the battery dies, you got yourself another 3000 Dollars to spend.

      I figure six tears of riding to pay myself back. 72 mile round trip commute, 11plus MPG in the truck or my 2022 SR/S at some crazy 150+ mpg equivalent. Costs about $2 to charge. We shall see if the battery life goes beyond 5 years. Down and out on the battery at 4 years would be to my advantage. So $20 a day in the truck times 175 days driving in and back from work, that’s $3500 in gas per year if it’s cheap. Or $350 to charge the Zero overnight for the same days use. 5 times $3150; the difference, and it’s paid for itself.

    This turd gets 40 miles at 70 on the highway, how can that be acceptable for 13 grand?

      If your not going more than 40 miles it is not an issue. Must be acceptable to most people. How is the lack of visibility acceptable in the current Camaros?

      @@bindingcurve I've never once had a problem with visibility in any of the 3 camaro's i had. Especially my 2ss with blind spot monitoring. People need to learn how to drive first before getting in one.

      If you commute less than that... it's acceptable. If you commute more than that... it isn't.

      My commute is less than 10 miles in either direction. Monthly payment is far less than I would be paying for gas in my truck over the same period. it charges at home or at work for less than $1(For reference, gas here is $6/gal.). This seems acceptable to me.
