The first combo you should learn is x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x because if you mess that up you should realize the game isn't for you and you should refund the game.

When I first played the game I went straight into training mode and created my own manual combos. I suggest everyone else does the same it's a lot of fun
This looks like a smaller version of another manual combo that works on almost everyone, save a few people who's heavy in the air only knocks downwards and never upwards (like Frieza). I'll list the controls for the combo i'm talking about. I'll use the 123456789 set up for direction, 1 being down and back, 2 is down, 3 is forward and down, 4 is back, 5 is neutral, 6 forward, 7 up and back, 8 up, and 9 is up and forward. L = light, M = medium, H = heavy, J = jump. (other videos explain the number setup and use it, so if you have trouble understanding my reference, try to find them, it's where I got it.) 2L 5L 2M 5M, (knocks them up a bit) J, L M L, 2H H (first heavy knocks upwards, second makes you dash after them), M L L, J (this J depends on your character, and small difference in distance when you started the combo. Sometimes you need to J straight upwards to continue, sometimes angle towards them and upwards, but you want to make sure you stick close enough to continue the combo from wherever the M L L pushed them), L L H. This last H will send them crashing down, if you have the energy you can follow up with a H + M teleport attack, which can then be followed by a mid air dragon dash when it wall bounces them. Certain characters can also instead use specials here, or replace the very last H with specials, such as teen gohans multi kick, etc. You gotta kind of play around, sometimes the basic H into H + M and dragon dash, is more damage anyways then using specials, sometimes it's not. That combo works on nearly everyone in the roster, and as the one in this video, really gives you a great feel for the flow of this game and how you can chain combos, and helps you start being able to either build your own combos or learn other more advanced ones.
For anyone like me that's new to the game and learning this, I've learned a few things about the combo. Firstly, it's not actually universal. Characters like Kid Buu who knock the opponent down with his aerial 2H makes it impossible to follow up with an SD (Super dash). I also tested it with Z Broly whose aerial 2H is a downwards drop stomp that doesn't even connect, making the combo more or less pretty useless for him. At least from what I could tell. Could be wrong, I'm not good at the game. For the characters that it does work for, the combo is really easy to get used to and extremely fun to pull off.
after the down M you have to do a 5 M or a neutral medium attack! that is the one you can jump cancel! There are also a ton of other variations. you can do two lights at the beginning for example!

I have been looking around as i just got into this game but my friend taught me this combo crouch medium, standing medium, jump f, medium, L,L,down Heavy, super dash, medium, L,L, down heavy, immediate jump, light light light slammed, super 1. Then on another it was the same thing except it was light medium down heavy which is the one i was able to catch on video in full. Then another said it was just L, L, down heavy for each air string with the same slam down. Now this one seems to start the same but do something a little different and I don’t know which one is the exact one. I feel it’s the medium light light down heavy cause that seems like the fullest one but idk?

i found out a pretty neat combo. You can start however you want but preferably you shouldn't start with a light for scaling damage. Anyway the start is the same, you can go with a jH,cM,M,jL,M,L,cH>H,L,M,L,cH,jL,L,L,L (autocombo it, works like that) into super 1 or 3. You can further extend the combo with a special ability from the character you're using. Hope this helps, btw a tip for anyone new to the game, even if you can perform combos without a sweat you MUST work on your movement and your defense, learn how to deflect, how to open up your opponent when he's blocking and lastly experiment the assist mechanic in this game. Not gonna lie, when I heard jump cancel I wasn’t sure I’d be able to balance it. Mainly because I suck at fighting games. I tend to stick with auto combos and various specials, but I can gladly say that after a little practice with jump cancelling I’m getting better with manual combos. Got my first few ranked wins recently too after a LOT of casual. Just wanna say thanks for the pointers.
Coming back to this in 2020 and this is absolutely mental to experience such a muted Doya. If his hype meter had a level classification to it he'd definitely be a Saibamen at this point in his career. Not that I mind that but I definitely get a lot more pumped with his more recant videos; in fact I even kinda emulate that energy when playing with friends sometimes because it just makes it way more fun that way.

can you try this with frieza cause i can do it perfectly fine with adult gohan and goku black but every time i try with frieza it doesn’t work. he just knocks him down when doing down heavy to knock them up.

If you block an auto combo, instantly hit your light button and start your own combo. They are forced to get hit or block it so that you can mix them up!
None of the auto combos are safe, which means that if blocked they are left wide open for retaliation. That is unless they manually add a special move ender that is safe.

You have to work through the nervousness, do it so many times that you start to get used to the feeling. Soon enough it will just become muscle memory!
Best way to learn any long string of inputs is to break it down in sections. Do a few steps and stop, then do them again til it becomes 2nd nature. Rinse and repeat with the rest of the combo.
What i try to do is just lower your reaction time when having trouble doing combos that way you dont get tensed up and mess up the inputs cuz you press too fast
Don't worry I managed to figure it out after having the exact same problem. To do the "Smash Attack", you have to hold down+B (xbox) or down+Circle (playstation) or Down+Heavy. So it would look like this in total: Light, Down+Medium, Medium, Jump Cancel, Light, Medium, Jump Cancel, Light, Medium, Down+Heavy, Super Rush, Light, Medium, Heavy. Hope I helped!

I'm trying to figure this out too, this is the part of the combo where i get stuck. I can do everything up to this point, can someone help?
Don't worry I managed to figure it out after having the exact same problem. To do the "Smash Attack", you have to hold down+B (xbox) or down+Circle (playstation) or Down+Heavy. So it would look like this in total: Light, Down+Medium, Medium, Jump Cancel, Light, Medium, Jump Cancel, Light, Medium, Down+Heavy, Super Rush, Light, Medium, Heavy. Hope I helped!

In normal notation its Light,Down medium, Medium, Jump cancel into a Light and medium, Down heavy, another jump light and medium and heavy to bring them back down!
Is the light medium at 1:23 and all the ones after it forward or neutral?

How do you stay with the person tho? Like when you jump cancel in the middle of the map I always lose the person so I can’t finish the combo do you hold left or right while doin the combos ???
