      @@stefano_u they did pronounce her name correctly. She is named after one of my husband’s aunts who was one of 14 children in an Italian family ❤️ For some reason the AKC refers to the breed as Bracco Italiani and not Bracco Italiano. I’ll see if the breed club cares to try and change it

    I love Bracco Italiano and Elvira is amazing but... why dock the tail of a dog that does agility? indeed, why cut the tails of dogs? free cruelty

    • @gsp8489
      @gsp8489 Год назад +4

      Many hunting dogs with long, thin, and lightly protected tails had their tails docked traditionally to avoid the tip of the tail becoming split open after a long day of hunting and having the tail constantly smacking into trees, briers, and brambles. Those injuries are notoriously difficult to heal.

    • @ThePollaton
      @ThePollaton 9 месяцев назад

      My bracco doesn’t have a docked tail and she sometimes wags it so hard that she cuts it. Luvkily she hasn’t yet damaged it badly, but sometimes docking can be a preventative measure. I don’t agree with cosmetic things like ear cropping.

      What's would you say training a bracco is like?
      When I ask people they tend to either tell me they're easy to train or they tell me they're super stubborn and only do something if they want to.

    • @ThePollaton
      @ThePollaton 9 месяцев назад

      @@Nil-tz6gy lol a bit of both. I’m adobo trainer and she loves working for me. She is really intelligent and if you’re doing something she enjoys doing she will do it for food, for a toy or just for the sheer enjoyment of doing it. She has an amazing recall, however, you have to be prepared that they don’t stay within a normal dogs boundary, they will trek off after a scent. So dependant on where you live you must consider this. I need to be cautious where we walk for her safety. I do know many bracco owners that don’t ever let them off lead for this reason. I know she has no intent to harm and tends to avoid other dogs when off scenting, but she has been trained constantly from the day she arrived in our home. Also you must make sure they are mentally and physically stimulated. Wilma would be so bored if she didn’t do what we do together.
      If after that you still fancy getting one go for it 😂😂
      She is also extremely cuddly and affectionate. 🥰🥰🥰

      Thanks for the info!
      They sound a bit more hound like than the other pointing breeds, but they still sound like lovely dogs!
      How much minimum daily excersice would you say they need? I want to make sure I can handle all their needs before I go getting one 😊
