Great idea. I would add an eye screw hook or 2 onto the hollow and corresponding pilot holes to screw it into the side so it can transform into a fishing pole or other such, and when done fishing, or trapping etc. you can remove them and store them again. The hooks may also be useful inside the shelter, if it is used as a pole or a cross piece, to hang lanterns or other such. Or may be, tie a thin fishing pole along side it, under the paracord and line. Or better yet , do both. 😊

Love this. I'm going to make one from aluminum conduit. It will have a coupling on one end and a cap at the handle. I'll thread a solid rod to screw into the coupling that is threaded ,3/8 16 for any tool I want to attach to it. A knife blade, a hook or a spearhead that will fit inside.

Can also pack a blowgun and darts inside.

Wow!! What a great idea! This is the best idea I have seen all year+, why didn't I think of it? I was gonna carve a walking cane with a snake on it, but when I do I will be adding some modifications. With the hooks in the end I would add 3 of those screw in eyes that you hang pictures with to use for the eyes on a makeshift pole, and maybe a snare wire too, I use a tigertail type wire.

Cool idea. Thanks for sharing. Since this seems to be a fishing heavy kit, why not either include some threaded eye hooks, or have them already in place on that staff (or predrilled holes to mount them in) to easily convert the whole thing into a fishing rod?

My hiking staff when I was w/ Search & Rescue looked similar.. We had to track criminals in the woods, so we needed to measure boot size, stride lenght and mark trees w/ caution tape... Everything I needed was on my staff, besides a backpack encase we had to spend the night.

Like it. 👍🏻👍🏻. I’d suggest if I may is to pound a nail in the end and cut the head off to make it stick in the ground for better traction. Great idea tho. God bless.

Putting the fish hooks and needle in the centre might mean you get poked and irritated from repeatedly gripping it there. Maybe not an issue as a walking stick, but if you ever want to be able to spin this staff for self-defence, you should prioritise comfort, grip and ease of manipulation in the centre of the shaft.

these types of walking sticks should be above eye level so if you stumble the odds of it poking your eye out is less
