This is one of the never missed South Indian dishes on any traditional occasions or festivals especially as a prasadam for festivals like Dussehra, makara sankranthi, pongal, Ugadi , Diwali, Navarathri, Sivarathri, Vinayaka Chavithi whatnot almost all south Indian events it is a must.
Pulihora is nothing but tamarind rice, with a few ingredients and a strong asafoetida tadka.
Andhra style Pulihora recipe is delicious and easy to cook at home, follow the vismai food tips and measurements in preparation for the perfect recipe, and cook Prasadam Pulihora recipe at home.
Prasadam pulihora slightly differs from regular tamarind rice recipe. To get the authentic temple prasadam pulihora taste sesame oil is a must or at least try to use groundnut oil, than the refined oil.
Mustard is nothing but aavalu in telugu. Since this pulihora has lots of mustard and mustard paste it is named as aava pulihora. if you are don't the taste of mustard can reduce the mustard quantity.
This Tamarind rice is very good to eat hot or even tastier on the next day can be mixed with curd as well as per your taste.
