Thank you for the translations! I’ve loved Rui side stories and I’m very glad I get to understand what he’s talking (especially because he spams internal monologue). I am very grateful for that. It’s kind of funny to see Rui getting more character development in mixed events (Pandemonium, and this by a little bit) but it also makes sense since his arc is about bonding with other people. I love seeing him step out of his comfort zone and mustering the courage to form more bonds and memories (even if it’s about a grave matter of repeating a year or not). He has changed a lot since his first appearance where he doesn’t even look at others while talking to now where he actively helps his kouhais in their studies. I also love Rui and Toya interactions as Rui is someone who does hide stuff behind his smile while Toya is someone who is very straightforward and says embarrassing things sometimes. Toya and Rui interactions consists of 1) wedding (aka Rui also stepping out of his comfort zone where he showcases his creativity), to Toya making bad cupcakes for Rui to taste and now they’re both helping their friends in their studies. These two form a very interesting dynamic where one is an airhead and one is a trickster but Toya is too pure for this. I also like how Rui and Mizuki serves as foils of each other where the former is more active and the latter is more passive (as shown from the train scene in “A Sorrowful Farewell at the Curtain Call” and “Secret Distance”). Of course, Rui has found his companions and trusted them during his event while it’s Mizuki’s first event. Though, Mizuki is still definitely more passive than Rui. Mizuki wasn’t originally going to join iirc but was pushed by others regardless. Both are rooftop outcasts but still have their differences - Rui is forming memories even with people that don’t have the same dreams as he does, while Mizuki hasn’t been able to tell Ena of their secret (though, they smile so brightly in the untrained in this event so I think they are getting there). Anyways, thanks so much for this! I like this a lot and I hope you can continue making them (and I’ll probably type a lot under the videos again lol).
