How to repair flickering problem on backup camera with a relay on a Vw Passat B6

I installed a backup camera on my VW passat 2006 and got some problem with flickering when i started my car.
The car stereo is bought from China so it is an aftermarket stereo but works perfect. I fix the problem with a relay and the problem is gone.

Great video. I had a flickering camera on a 2013 Ford Edge. I purchased an aftermarket camera on Amazon for about $100. I'm mechanically inclined but not too crazy about working on cars. With the help of this video, it took some time but was 100% successful, and now the backup camera works as expected. Thank you for the well-done video.

relay is a resistor protected (normal kind without diode) 12v 4 pin relay. 5 pin normal or change over can be used as well if you use the same pins he mentions. However i have tried to do this and the pulsing reverse light positive engages and disengages the relay and therefore has the same effect as if there was no relay. the screen still flickers.

Try to disconnect the ground wire of the camera from the rear lamp circuit. The camera still have the ground (-) from the RCA cables anyhow, so its still on. This means removing double ground circuit. And the flickering will disappear.
