  • This past week was Victory Day here in Russia, where the entire country celebrates the victory of the Soviet Union over the German army in WW2. But this video isn't about that holiday, but about what I got invited to DO during it! I was invited by a friend I made here this last year to visit her Dacha, a heatless, AC-less second home with no electricity or running water that 70% of Russians have. In a country with a relatively low income level, how and why do the majority of Russians have these random second countryside homes? I went myself to check out in person just what the heck exactly is a Dacha? And why do they use them and love them so much?
