Propagation boxes are game-changing. Since I discovered them, can't really go without. Great for speeding up rooting process in several species as well.
Thank you and yes, I got some ideas! I'm a many years antique dealer and and bonsai freak wanting to build terraruims now, just realized I had a great collection of domes, bottles, fish bowls, stands, and after buying just a few plants my cheapness has taken over and realized you can start these closed or almost closed with just cuttings. I am going to not hate this Ohio winter!
I know its more convenient but I much prefer the old box :D looks really like a small forest - am thinking of doing a smaller one for myself :D thanks for sharing your knowledge
Omg I now have 8 prop boxes under lights and at first they were mixed with lots of different cuttings but, like you, the smaller plants were getting shaded and hidden by the taller plants, so now each of my boxes only has one or two different plants in it or a few varieties with similar growth habits. That has helped a lot
Wow, this was an information packed presentation, sir!!! The amount of detail you provided without getting bogged down with rambling (like I'm probably doing now) is sincerely commendable. Kudos!
@@TheUrbanNemophilist I want to make the propagation box, since I don't know what to do with so many pots in my apartment and I'm taking them to the country house, but I don't have them in sight, some are dying, I think it's excess water. How much water should I place in the propagation box for them to preserve and thrive?
I am new to the hobby so this is a good skip ahead in thinking for me as I am currently building up a propagation box, myself. Thanks for saving me some headaches in future propagation and climatizing plants.
Beautiful video! I see you are propagating hedera plant as well. Have you planted it in smaller terrariums? I thougt of buying one because it doesn't need a lot of light, likes humidity, but it's pretty big with big leaves, so I'm not sure if it will thrive even in a 2 liter jar. What do you think?
@@TheUrbanNemophilist I just watched your old terrarium maintenance video where you trimmed English Ivy. It looked healthy after 1.5 years inside of a ~2 liter jar even though it had decent size leaves. I think I'll buy it soon and peperomia verticillata as well. Only need to make place for them on my window by giving away a couple of Boston ferns)))
Hey I got my firs fish today I got 4 white cloud mountain minnows and 1 borneo suckeker they are in my dad's 30gallon tank for now but I am going to transfer them in my 2 gallon tank soon
Did you ever had problem with mold inside a growing box? Just happend in one of my boxes. I aired it and sprayed some cinnamon but i don't think i can save my fittonias...
Depends how tight the lids are. Mine are clip on and allow for a tiny air exchange. Also these boxes should be kept under artificial full spectrum grow lights. Never under sunlight.
I heard that air circulation is important. If you close the lid, I think there won’t be any air circulation. Can you let me know if that doesn’t matters?

Please make a video how you collect stones and woods from nature. 🙏🙏
I usually don’t. I mostly buy all hardscape from aquascaping stores
Help! In a terrarium there are white "small balls", probably fungi. What I can do?
You could check out my videos on mold control and prevention
what solution do you use if you encounter molds?
Manually remove with a brush it and eventually it goes away. But preventive actions are better than corrective. More info in my mold prevention video.
Can u help me getting to know we’re to order terrarium plants online u have the oak leaf plant which I need were can I get them
I do not have the oakleaf. I just have the ficus pumila creeping fig. You could order it from etsy or desertcart.in

Did not work for me but you can always try
👌👍❤️
Do I need to drill holes in my box? Some of the plants have started rotting the ferns are doing terrible

And what about lighting with this closed box? I mean it is not clear like glass! And these plants need light How you manage lighting it?
Covered in this video ruclips.net/video/_3-WPc6n-6A/видео.htmlsi=zq-e_-NiRs8HlMng on lighting
how many time you spray the plant ? in week or in month ?
Once a month

Weekly but more often in summers
