Is this based on actual Psychology? I've taken the test and I think what I get is pretty accurate (INTP), I'm just wondering if this has any scientific backing.

There's scientific rationale behind this (see www.myersbriggs.org). Remember though that you provide the initial data - and that bit is by definition subjective :-)
