    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️great recipe! The only thing I changed was the sugar for molasses and it came out scrumptious with a nice caramel taste from the molasses.
    Highly recommend this recipe from all other starter pancake recipe. Enjoy

    Can this also be made with rye flour sourdough discard?

    • @londonchef
      @londonchef  11 месяцев назад +1

      I think it would work, the discard replaces something like buttermilk to add acidity

    Why does everyone specify "sourdough discard?" Discard is the exact same thing as sourdough, unless the point is you don't have to feed it prior to using. Can someone clarify that for me. Thank you.

    • @1organicmom
      @1organicmom 8 дней назад

      You’re correct. That’s what it means when they use sourdough “discard” - it means unfed straight from the fridge.

    Honey, I just love listening to your very sexy voice! Aside from that, your recipe is basic and actually made very fluffy pancakes. I made 26 pancakes for Superbowl Sunday's breakfast today 2/13/22...and my guests ate every single one!

      There _is_ vanilla and sugar in the recipe. Check again 😉. And we Brits are certainly *not* silly.

      @@ShazWag I don't use vanilla or sugar in the final batter either. Served with lots of maple syrup with blueberries and whipped cream so the added sugar isn't required. Sourness is a feature that would be lacking in this recipe because there was no overnight rest to let it ferment and if all that b.soda was added too soon it kills the sour as well as the lift it would get if added just before baking.

      Sourdough gives a good taste in it and the baking soda decreases the sour taste
