I just said something similar to my son when he called me a strong black woman. ( I raised him alone.) For most of us it was a necessity not a choice. We’d love the opportunity to be “soft” while still being respected.

When Amanda was a guest host on The Real, I remember typing in the comments that she needed to be a permanent host and everyone in the comments on The Real RUclips agreed. Once she actually became a permanent host, the energy completely changed which shocked me. People starting saying so many negative things as soon as she got the job. To me it looked like bullying. Clearly The Real audience was not ready for an unapologetic black woman. Amanda makes white people and even some black people uncomfortable because she wants this country to confront their biases, prejudices and ultimately eliminate racism. Amanda, keep your head up and keep doing God's work!

Yes, I agree. I never watched the show religiously. I’d catch clips on RUclips or episodes here and there when I was home from work. Whenever she was a guest host, I’d watch, I love how insightful she is, and how educated on issues she is. Once they added Amanda, I made sure to watch and everyone was damn negative in the comments. They couldn’t handle the truth she brought to the show. I’ll keep supporting her in anything and everything she does.

Chuck B I have to respectfully disagree. Humans are projectors, meaning any insecurities or personality traits that we deem unaccepted by ourselves or others we project onto other people. We are reflections and mirrors of one another. Anything that we have an issue with in someone else is really just something that we don’t love or accept in ourself. I think the proper thing to say is....maybe we as humans need to do a better job at holding ourselves accountable for OUR OWN feelings instead of blaming someone else for that. Because in doing that we make agreements saying that this one person has the power to affect our emotions and feelings and this simply is not true. Unless you enjoy viewing yourself as powerless and as a victim. Then yes....place blame on someone else for not being adult aware enough to see this as truth. The world hates authenticity and weakness. Anything that goes against the “norm” is hating. Healing and self acceptance is the key to emotional freedom.

My opinion has changed and although I always thought she was an amazing speaker, she previously came off (to me) as harsh. We never know someone’s inner turmoils and it’s not our business until THEY decide to share. Her tears were mine and we are sisters. People put such high standards on us that they don’t even apply to themselves. Smh. The comment “be careful the people that you know the least will make you feel as if you don’t even know yourself” hit hard. So deep. Her testimony as a person resonated. Profusely! never grow tired of fighting, take a break, reevaluate, meditate, make needed changes. It is natural for a woman to want and dare I say need to have a mate to be of the same yoke. it is what nature intended. When she finds that man and he is out there, pray that you recognize him, that union will be able to complement each other respect each others differences and be willing to let a capable man take the lead and you will be your softer self
