Russian Circles - Gnosis [GUITAR COVER]

- Title track from the last album of one of my favourite bands, this one was tricky to get in one take! I also had to have some fun with looping and while I was at it I used MIDI controls from Logic to controll effects changes on my Helix LT as well as control the looper, big learning opportunity and great fun!
A lot of people have asked about the tone, so I have decided to upload to Line6 Custom Tone portal, bearing in mind this is a tone INSPIRED by Russian Circles, it is in no way meant to replicate Mike's sound. The IR I used is from York Audio taster pack and is the YA MES 212 V30 Mix 03.
The best part was figuring out how to setup the delays, I've reached the desired effect by having the 2 delays in parallel be with separate subdivisions and it sounds relatively close (rhythmically!) to the record.

Dude! You crushed that! An incredible tune and you played it precisely without sacrificing the heart of the song. I was going to record a cover of this for the fun of it. Amazing cover and facinating to see this in action. It would be great to see your process for triggering changes and the looping methods. Where these both baked into the Midi messages from Logic so no tap dancing was needed for the loops?
They were indeed, there is a great resource available here: helixhelp.com/tips-and-guides/universal/midi#midi-cc
I basically used the part regarding the looper section and then the messages to call snapshots, the slight peculiarity I had to work around is that you trigger the first loop recording, whne you then stop it it automatically goes into overdub mode, so if you don't want to overdub (like at the beginning of the song here) you need to send the same record stop message twice in quick succession.

Hey there! thanks for listening! everything I have uploaded so far goes via my helix LT, I've pinned a comment with some more detail and a download link to the preset if you are interested. The amp in the preset was something with high headroom, if I'm not mistaken was a Fender or similar.
