- What are the best things to do in St Ives? How do you get to St Ives on the St Earth to St Ives train? Is it one of the best things to do in Cornwall? Is Tehidy Woods the best place to see bluebells in Cornwall? Find out this and so much more in this video!
We started our day in Tehidy woods where we saw the bluebells in bloom and got up close and personal with some squirrels - they’ll even eat out of your hands if you take some food! After this we went to St Ives, but to avoid the traffic we went to St Earth train station and made use of the park and ride into St Ives. The scenic coastal train was gorgeous and when we arrived we got a tasty Cornish pasty. I flew my drone to get some stunning 4k drone footage of St Ives and then we went on a walk along Porthmeor beach (seeing the surfers) and up onto the amazing, craggy Hellesveor Cliffs. After a Cornish gin and tonic (lemonade for me!) we had fish and chips watching the sunset before going back to our lodge in Praze-an-Beeble.

The reason the squirrels (and ducks) are so friendly is that dogs are banned from that section near the lake. There are still miles of paths for dogs but it is nice that the wildlife has a place they can relax.
I live in St Ives & your wonderful video has made me appreciate how lucky I am. So glad you enjoyed it, you definitely took the wisest route by getting the train, plus you get to see all the stunning coastline & scenery. ST Ives is famous for its lack of parking. Even in mid Winter the traffic is bad and the only parking you will find spaces at is on top of the hill a good 10-15 minutes walk from the beach. There is a bus shuttle to the car park though.

i and my family go to st. ives every august, its a 2 hours drive for us lol)) it takes ages to get there, but when you get there i can confirm its very beautifull, especially when we go into town at night. Would definitely recommend.
