As a recovering addict of 7 years now. Anything in life that comes quick usually has drastic consequences or strings attached. I got into this with the notion that time is my friend not my enemy. Patience is a virtue and I will continue to collect and keep most of my products sealed and hopefully over time my investment will pay off.
I used to run a food cart in downtown Portland Maine years back. People would come up to my cart and be like “this looks cool and fun. I can set my own up”. They act like it is so easy to set up a LLC with the state, get the health inspection through the state. Then getting the additional health inspection permit through the city of Portland because there regulations are stricter than state regulations. Getting all the product I need to sell plus setting it all up myself. Then packing up and cleaning the cart and getting ready for the next day. Running your own business is very rewarding but you must have the motivation and self drive to do everything on your own.

My shop grinds out singles at $1 profit just to then invest in a booster box then wait 2-5 years to realize gains on it to invest in another new box to wait again 2-5 years on. If you don’t want to work this isn’t the job for you. Because in the end that is what it is. A job. It’s a grind not a get rich quick scheme. Someone needed to say it and I’m glad you did!

The crazy thing is I bet people who make content and talk about distributors, probably do sell to certain people for pennies on the dollar. Can’t hurt to ask but damn, I don’t know of anyone just helping a total stranger, after putting in so much hard work yourself.
Distors don't give newcomers dibs on new products. They have to wait like everyone else does that opens LGS. PRE-ORDER new sets are off limits to new clients to Distors. Also, it is very hard to have a business like an LGS. I have one, and it's a lot of work. You have to work at least 12 to 14 hour days. You have to make sure that you pay taxes in each state if you have a nexus in that state or reach the 200 transactions mark in some states where you will start paying taxes in. You also have to pay taxes in the city/town that you live and / or sell to as well. There is a lot of over haed with brick and motor stores, which can be overwhelming at times. Especially with dealing online. Yes, it's best to be your own boss, but it's a lot of work, time, and money. In the long run, it will pay off, tho. If you run it right, you can be very successful and then enjoy your life after the 10 to 20 years of working for yourself.

The crazy thing is I bet people who make content and talk about distributors, probably do sell to certain people for pennies on the dollar. Can’t hurt to ask but damn, I don’t know of anyone just helping a total stranger, after putting in so much hard work yourself.

Distors don't give newcomers dibs on new products. They have to wait like everyone else does that opens LGS. PRE-ORDER new sets are off limits to new clients to Distors. Also, it is very hard to have a business like an LGS. I have one, and it's a lot of work. You have to work at least 12 to 14 hour days. You have to make sure that you pay taxes in each state if you have a nexus in that state or reach the 200 transactions mark in some states where you will start paying taxes in. You also have to pay taxes in the city/town that you live and / or sell to as well. There is a lot of over haed with brick and motor stores, which can be overwhelming at times. Especially with dealing online. Yes, it's best to be your own boss, but it's a lot of work, time, and money. In the long run, it will pay off, tho. If you run it right, you can be very successful and then enjoy your life after the 10 to 20 years of working for yourself.

The more i watch and read about in the TCG investor bro realm the more i believe people have more money than we realise. If people are ever in any doubt as to how much money people have in this world despite 2008 crisis, multiple conflicts, viral pandemic etc in the last 15 years this video hints at the answer. The divide between those who have and those who have not is intergalactic - willing to jump ship on a distributor and pump thousands into the latest 'deal' with your scrooge duck money dive is baffling
