- These Tropical Fruit Vendors Kept Me Entertained! Philippines 🇵🇭
Davao, Philippines is known for their fruit, especially durian. Many Filipinos around the Philippines love durian, as do many foreigners, but many people also hate it. The durian in Davao, Philippines was much more mild than the durian I tried the week before. If durian isn't your thing, there are plenty of other exotic fruits to try in the Philippines!

Jonathan, noticed the locals like to joke around a lot and laugh a lot?. Here in the states they’re sensitive and women pull a Karen on you. Not in PI. 😂😂
😂 so true... It's not taken so seriously here.. much more laid back!
I remember the canadian vlogger named Brett Maverick ate durian for the very first time and he was gross out. Today, he keeps on eating it. Just give it a time and you’ll learn to love it. Lol.
yeah, in Europe we can learn a lot from the friendliness in the Philippines 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Marang, Durian, Rambotan, Mangosteen, Lanzones, etc. that's a lot of fruit.
Yeahhh! That’s why later in the day (Kadayawan festival video) I give some away to those men ( this is a very delayed post )

Jonathan, I haven't viewed all of your escapees yet but I'll get there. For what I've seen so far (2), I tell you now that I will love them all. I appreciate your way of showcasing areas you are visiting. You talk to the local citizens and learn a bit of the local dialect. Keep it up and I'll follow. You are doing a good job.
Happy to see that you have a new video again!❤️

Jonathan, you’re enjoying & embracing the Filipino culture..ty for sharing your experiences, I’m a fan! Be careful!🙏😊
You are lucky with your marang. That is what we call good quality marang. Thick pulp and free from any browning. You can also ask a friend to roast the seed. It is also good.
Dear Jonathan, Wow! You mention having an idea how you wanted to do your intro. I am sure it would have been good. The intro here, WOW, is absolutely GREAT! What better way for folks to see life in the Philippines. The people are so relaxed, happy, and good natured. I enjoyed so much I subscribed. Great job, God's Blessings, Irish (yes that is my name)

They are one of the best fruits easp in the Philippines. Next time try Langka or Jackfruit also. Its so sweet taste like candy. 😁
Hi Jonathan, great video of your experience in the Tropical Fruit Market. It was interesting to learn that there are different varieties of Durian fruit. Glad to know that this variety was better than the Durian you had in Malaysia. I am very impressed by how social and well mannered the children are in the Philippines. That little boy Andrew sad thank you so sincerely.
It was interesting

Your so lucky having those Tropical Fruits! It’s hard to find good Fruit here in Europe though..
Yeah they’re great!
Hi Jonathan. My wife is from Pangasinan (we live in a suburb of Minneapolis) and we very much enjoy your videos. She would love to see you visit her ‘region’ in Luzon in do some things there. You would also be doing me a huge favor, as I have yet to visit the Philippines! Keep up the great work!
I miss my home in Philippines. Right at our backyard we grow bananas, coconut everywhere guyabano, starfruit, star apple, pineapple ,guava, avocado. But here in Canada is very expensive. Jackfruit too is very active to grow in our yards. But job opportunities in America's cause us to leave our country and forget the fruit in my backyard. But here 9 dollars I pay I could get 10 pcs of banana. We have different varieties of bananas too.Hoping next year I could go back home .Life in Canada is like UK the cost of living is up .All you do is work and work to pay bills but the benefits is awesome that we couldn't get in Philippines.
Very true.. many Filipinos seem to be in this situation. You prefer the Philippines, but North America has more job opportunities.. maybe you can come back to the Philippines one day!
Great vids
Jonathan, have you come across a roasted peanut vendor yet??? You will love them!
Oooo, marang and mangosteen is something I want to try. So much of part of my culture I'm missing. Thanks for showing us this market and all the great videos you do.
They're both great! Mangosteen a little sour and Marang is very sweet. Thank you for watching!

Hello, Travel Man. I have viewed you Channel for a while and I am following your suggested advice and will visit Bohol. I am arriving on November 20, 2023. I hope an old man from TN has not received bad advice. This is not my first trip to the Philippines. I will be here until Dec 5, 2023.
I’m jealous.i missed those fruits😂
Wow the price of the fruits there is cheap, here in Baguio it goes up thrice, but strawberries here are cheap.
one of the things i love in life is tropical fruits
Yeahh! They’re really good here!
great day with fruits and great video with vendors. 🥰 it's funny though that you have to find an alley where you can actually eat the fruits. hehe
Marang!!!! It’s been a while I love marang
That was the first time I saw it! It’s a Crazy looking fruit with that soft exterior
Welcome to Davao City Jonathan! Try to visit Malagos Philippine Eagle, Crocodile Park and Night Market then go to Samal Island to see some beaches.
I love marang and durian.❤ Hi jonathan
Ji LilyBeth! I've still got to get used to durian! 😂
Durian is good for you
you should also visit mount kanlaon and mount kanlandog in Bacolod, safe journey man
Thanks for tips!
Frozen durian is the best, it's like a creamy ice cream. Try it and you will appreciate it more. Some people partner it with cold coca cola. It's the best street snack in Davao.
Philippines duryan is the best because 4 kind of duryan that we are deferent name of taste at the color inside of duryan so that we all sweet the one small is so sweet but I forgot the name
I see Ken Abroad from Germany with you in Malaysia
Yeah! He’s in this video on my second channel! ruclips.net/video/tKeBeEHw3SI/видео.htmlsi=TyffzC0hdwL00m9c
I miss eating mangosteen. I haven’t had marang
ANOTHER ONE! JONATHAN STRIKES AGAIN WITH ANOTHER VIDEO! You're getting quite popular with the locals, Jonathan. Turning into a mini celebrity with the Filipinos. 😀😀
Haven’t tasted Dorian and Davaos noted for it. I love mangustin, try the fresh pineapple Jonathan coming Bukidnon. It’s really sweet.
Marang should have cost less. But it is still cheaper compared in metro manila which is only sold at a few places.
Oh it’s not easy to find in Manila? Is durian easy to find there?
Go to Mati, Jonathan! You’ll love the beach there in Dahican
Oooo new episode
Yeahhhh! Filmed in August though
Oooo that makes sense
try pomelo(Golden brand) nextime
If you come across guyabano fruit or a juice made of the same, try it! Very nice. 😋
Ooo sounds good!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL yes the fruit's english name is soursop. Deeeeeelish
Marang 100?!!! Pag sure uy.
The price of Marang in Manila is expensive but here in Dipolog only 20 or 25 each
Oh really?
Marang very expensive here in my town Marang is only 20.00
It’s a lot of fruit though!
I like jackfruit , have u tried yet .?
Hey man
Hey man!
I miss Anne.
It’s funny you say that… she’s in the video I’m posting today!
❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!
❤
*Lami kaayo si Jonathan, yummmm!*
Jonathan, look for filipina GF. She could be ur camerawoman as well😂🥰 Stay safe!
hahah, that would be nice!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Definitely! 😍🥰
Try not to poke mangosteen to open it because it will stain your fingers. If you see people open it, they'll just press on the sides of the fruit so it will crack open. It is also a way not to dirty your hands and fingers much.
Hi jonathan. Are you in dvo now?
I hope all these people who look you up and subscribe like appearing in your videos, they should be very proud of making you so welcome :D
They are all so friendly :))))
When are you going to go back and climb a coconut tree? I miss Ana. She was so funny.
Your having a fruit salad 😂
Haha yep!
U my go to Philippine eagle center Jon🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
Unfortunately, this is a delayed post, and I'm no longer in Davao! But that's a great idea for the next trip to Davao! Thank you for the suggestion, I'd love to see those eagles!
Serious question, but first a little info about myself. I'm 54, USMC veteran, recent ( last month) whole leg (right) amputee. The cost of living here in Pennsylvania on about 3k a month disability income is possible but barely living.
So my main question, is the phillipines amputee friendly? Can I expect to be able to get around? Also here I have found that I am almost shunned in social settings, will I find the same in the phillipines?
Thank you for your time, and any information you might provide.
Spit out the seeds 😂
😂
Marang for 100? Pag sure mo oi! Tag 20 rna sa amoa.
Ya it should cost less.......DTI should monitor please
You can never do intro there because filipinos love to talk. You can do your intro at the end or in your room!🤣😂😜🤪😎
What’s the difference between Malaysian durian and Philippines?
The one I had in Malaysia had a much stronger smell and taste.. but she’s saying there are different varieties in general. I’ve also heard that the ripeness is a factor? I don’t know, I’m still new to durian haha
Save some girls for the rest of us. Lol char
ma-RANG? (more like meringue!). no, MAH-rahng. your Spanish accent must sound very American too
I'm American, so yes, I have an American accent. Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger still hasn't lost his Austrian accent even though he moved to the US in 1968.
well, we all have our own accents. i just hope as you continue to stay in the Philippines, you'll internalize that words here (whether Tagalog, Bisaya, Ilocano, etc) have short vowels and which syllable to stress (they are rarely stressed on the first syllable).
i guess i'm pressed because you teach English and if someone you taught keeps saying ey-POL instead of AH-ple, you'd understand them, sure, but wouldn't you want them to learn how to say it correctly? but i'll try to refrain from commenting on your pronunciation in the future even if it really bugs me @@travelescapesOFFICIAL
Keep eating durian and you'll get used to the smell
