Stress distribution in the bolted connection is not as expected. The stress concentration should be at the location of the holes. Unfortunately, automatic meshing glues the surfaces that touch each other.

exactly, i was looking for an example that takes this into account.

You mean "automatic contact detection", right? It's in the study setup and is "bonded" as default.
