      +MaccBoii I'm from Argentina so of course I'm some kinda Manu fan lol. But he was dunking on people, making acrobatic plays, playing amazing d on superstars... he went to the Spurs 100% ready. Pop always loved his winning attitude and mental toughness.

      He's playing more of a roll this year. Last year it seemed like he was more of a 3rd team player for the spurs but now he's getting a lot more playing time. He has the potential for being a great 6th man for the team.

  • @dreamsanity34
    @dreamsanity34 8 лет назад +22

    Shaking my head at people saying Coach Pop should have played him during the playoffs vs OKC. Jonathon Simmons is really good and has a lot of potential, as you can see in the highlights. However, he only plays really well in spurts and that is what is shown here in the highlights. Most of the time especially against high level and top contender teams, he is turnover prone, inconsistent, hesitant to shoot the ball, bad decision making, inconsistent and showing no confidence at all. Now imagine if Pop played him against a top contender team like OKC in a playoff atmosphere. Trust me, I've watched and followed the Spurs all season long. But no worries, last season was for him to get a taste of the NBA, and this upcoming season is for him to improve upon it and contribute consistently with the team. I think they are envisioning him to replace Manu Ginobili, as they are running the same plays as Manu's, but he can't execute it well. Sames goes to Kyle Anderson as he will be replacing Boris Diaw, this coming season will be their breakout season.

    • @killstephcurry8323
      @killstephcurry8323 8 лет назад +6

      He is kind of like Kawhi coming into the league no confidence not a skilled shooter great athlete has some potential on offense but main focus will be defense and sharp cuts to the basket

    • @dreamsanity34
      @dreamsanity34 8 лет назад

      He is not going to be Kawhi or probably reach that level, but he is going to be a solid core and rotation player for the Spurs. He's only 26, and remember, Manu Ginobili and Tiago Splitter joined the Spurs at age 25. So there's still room for improvement.

      Darude Marc I have never found the spurs boring. I like to watch the way their offense work. The passing and spacing. Manu's euro is enjoyable to watch. The way kawhi plays defense is amazing. But not everyone has the same view that the spurs aren't boring. I just hope Jonathan Simmons can change the view of spurs as a "boring" team.

      I just watched this video with Jonathan Simmons and he is truly amazing! I read that Kawhi wanted the Spurs to dump Parker and Manu and resign Jonathan and Dewayne Dedman. Of course that never happened! Jonathan Simmons was another player, along with Kawhi, that old man popovich could not control and he did not know what the hell to do so he dumped him. Well, at least those two got out from under iron fist popovich where the rest of the players act like zombies!

    • @Keezus.
      @Keezus. 5 лет назад

      Snicky G Isn’t it funny, how no player or coach has ever spoken bad about popovich in the 20+ years he’s been a coach in this league except for delusional ass Stephen Jackson who thinks he’s better than manu.
      other players and superstars like Lebron and kd have said vocally that they would love to play under pop, but fans like you create these bullshit narratives to antagonize a man that has done nothing wrong in his career.
