It's 3:30am and I just streamed The Third Day in full straight through. It was absolutely incredible. Thanks to the bonus feature with Jude Law and Naomi Watts stopped me in my tracks. I had to pause it when they said it's actually a real place. I live in land locked Colorado and the whole series I was wondering if a causeway was even a real thing! When roads get flooded around here, they was away, so I'm absolutely shocked that the tide rolls in and out and the road is submerged but stays intact! That blows my mind.
The other thing that blows my mind is how absolutely stunningly beautiful and serene it is. I was shocked to see they really did film on the island it seems and that pub looked exactly the same and a lot of the very cozy cottages and roads and shrubbery were all the same.
Anyway, I wish I had my health so I could see places like this in person, but since I can't, I will give a ton of credit to the HBO series for the absolutely mind blowing cinematography!! I mean it was incredibke!! The aerial shots with the road under the water and the beautiful colors they used and how well they shot the scenes in the first half was just awesome. I haven't seen such a beautiful picturesque place on a TV show in a very long time, to learn it really exists is just the coolest thing ever.
I fully agree, places like that should not be touched. It should stay just as it is, I do hope it has. I also wonder if anyone on the island were extras in the show, it's not like they could shut down the island and make them all leave! So why not include them in the pub scene and the festival.
That's another thing, to also learn the folklore was true with the history explained in this video, and even the first leader of the island is the guy who they referenced in the series, they really didn't have to change a lot and the series was a bit nuts...but then again religion and belief is very tippy if you think about how intense people can get.
The salt and the soil was also cool.
Anyway, obviously this island is something very very special and Zim sad I can't go see it myself and find some peace away from the "mainland"!
Thank you to the people of this wonderful community for sharing your island with us viewers.
Oh amd by the way, Jude Law was so fantastic in this series! I think it was some of his best work to be honest. He was really really great.

This is definitely Mersea Island, I spent half my life visiting Osea and it does not look anything like that and there has never been a population of 400

This is strange because this is the same as a film on Mersea but they have changed it to Osea?

@@CharlieboyTop I echo Andrew's comments - this isn't Osea at all, its Mersea and the first part is the Strood in Mersea which I cross daily
