I almost wish they'd leaned harder into the "corpses look like the main character" gimmick and outright made the bodies be dead past yous. Then the first 'puzzle' would be to die and use your body to open the first door... etc.
I honestly thought that was going to be how you "finished" the ritual, but it was an interesting game nonetheless.

The animation is great but the overall gameplay seems tedious and that ending was.. well.. lacking to say the least.
i mean,the difference between tedious and entertaining is what what certain people like and don't like really,but it did seem like they could improve on the end a bit more

If you keep notes on death you may need to lure one of the monsters to the ledge you can't get back over and have it kill you.
It looks like it requires 6 souls to revive the mother, so in both endings, the mother gets revived, but if only 5 bodies are collected, the 6th soul seems to come from the daughter herself.
The endings weren't satisfying at all. I know Manly said the game was more about the journey, but considering how long it took, I wish they gave a little more than that.
Yeah, in my opinion it was kinda lacking since the 2 endings are the same except you die or you don't. I wish they put a little more into the endings but the game is pretty good
There might be another ending, though. Someone on the game's website mentioned being unable to get all the notes because of a bug and they replied that most likely it wasn't a bug but part of the game (puzzle?).
I want to know if it involves killing the girl on the top with the axe or not.

Gotta say, the rather elegant soundtrack really feels like it contributes to the atmosphere of this game.
Slightly gruesome but with an underlying feeling of calm. An excellent choice on the part of the creators.

A lot of it isn't youtube safe of course, but it's an incredibly grim experience, probably the best depiction of hell that I've seen.

Necromorphs are sorta similar but I don't think it involves magic it's more so horrific body manipulation ? I'm mostly just goofing around here

for the note at the far bottom right, I think you have to lure an enemy all the way over. The enemy that came down the hill and got trapped in that... 'sinkhole' area at the bottom? I think you need to find a way around from over top to get to the other side of him without removing that specific wall, than lure him to basically fall off that cliff face to that little area with the note. Lure him over, grab the note, get killed, game saves and you keep the note.

Aside from the obvious issue of it not being able to be beaten in the intended fashion, the main thing I'd like to see changed would be maybe one or two different additional enemy types to change up the gameplay. Still, I dig the idea of this game.

You probably will need to attract a monster there so it can kill you to keep the note, since they cant go up stairs but they can go down

I like the idea of the game - navigating a not-horrible maze and stealthily moving the bodies. Even accepting the premise of you have to sacrifice random corpses to revive your mother, you never were told anything about who were the lumbering bad guys.
You found the _~*secret_ area with that note by jumping, but it didn't matter. The notes also lost their relevance when you don't need them to complete the true ending - you just need to not be the final sacrifice. And that true ending was _very_ anticlimactic. The game needs improvement, although I had a good time watching your play through.
