YES! I live and ride in Prescott. When I bought a mountain bike in 2018, I stumbled across this channel and poured over the videos. GMBN helped me immensely in getting the maximum enjoyment out of this amazing pastime. I even gained enough confidence to enter 2022's Whiskey Off Road's 30proof. I CRUSHED it coming in at 491st.😂 So, seeing this video? Full circle. My life is complete. Great stuff, Rich!
That's a great story! We're happy we've been able to play a part in your MTB journey. Thanks for sharing it with us, and for checking out our videos in the first place 👍
Whiskey is on my calendar every year. Todd and his crew put on the absolute best events. On a completely different note... Next time you are in Arizona, stop by Cyclologic. I see some free speed in your bike fit!
It needs to stop raining for 30 minutes ;-) Whole different riding out west. Very dry, even after a rain, very little mud (most places) and every rock and bush is sharp and pointy and wants to kill you. lol
Great video! This race is the reason I ride now. My house is on the road portion of the climb. Got sick of watching others so I decided to join in. Bought a bike and, 2 years later, did my first race. Kicks my ass everytime :)
First weekend of May every year there's the Convict 100 at St Albans, New South Wales, Australia. It takes place on some mostly untamed trails and features a kayak bridge river crossing. If the 100km sounds a bit too extreme they have a 68km and 44km course as well. There were quite a few international riders there this year.
Enjoy watching you come to the US and try out our big races. I recommend trying the El Paso Puzzler. Syd and Mackey rode last year and are signed up to ride again. Awesome trails in El Paso Texas. Keep Up these race videos! 🍻
I rode this on April 29th. Hard course, but the elevation made it tougher. 5200 feet to roughly 8000 feet all in first 10 miles. It wasn't as hot as he was saying, it was around 75 degrees mid day, not 80. I also rode it on a fully rigid single speed. Rocker by Spot bikes.
Rich is going to have to come back to AZ for the Tour of the White Mountains in the fall! He can complete the Epic Rides tri-fecta! The TOTWM is a little more low key, but still a great time on the bike.
Great race Rich. My 9yr old son loved meeting you on Friday. He had such a great time that he decided to participate in his first MTB race last weekend.
I am an avid gravel rider, but compare this event to the Horrible Danish gravel meat grinder ( who actually wants to ride a bike on a beach... I mean on the beach?) That Manon did a few weeks ago on GCN... No comparison. Well slight comparison watching mountaijn bikes running pavement!) This event just looks awesome. A race that you would love to run even if you are not having your best day and have no chance of placing. That Danish Gravel race looked like something that even if you got transfered there for a summer, you would pick up another sport rather than ride half of that course.
Looks very similar to Tenerife races, you should come for Teide 360 marathon, the only thing it's 127km and 3700m of climbing😅 but that's nothing for Pro like Rich!❤
Now go for the 50 miler on Tour of The White Mountains, in Arizona. Very fun, or the 30, which is a little bit easier and more in the shade😅 Edit: Also, I bet it was so discouraging going down copper basin road and seeing the pros going up lol The poster that came in with the packet pickup was cool too
Great video, Awesome event. You seem to enjoy riding here in Arizona. There is an upcoming (September 16, 2023) Gravel event just north of Prescott on ranch road near the Town of Chino Valley. The Chino Grinder, 120 miles of mostly dirt/gravel ranch roads. Certainly worth checking out.
Desert riding is fun, think that is literally the reason E-bikes were invented FYI don't go riding in a hot desert with only one little water bottle lolz that would kill you
Signed up and hotel ready for Whiskey 25 Proof 2024
this looks fun. i really enjoy Rich's epic rides videos. especially ones where he doesn't end up in hospital! keep 'em coming!

As a Prescott native I absolutely love the whiskey and what it has done for the town. Beer and bikes, what more could you want!
So cool seeing you guys showcase all my favorite AZ races!
Good to see you recovered well from 24 HRS in old Pueblo! Please come back...your coverage is superb!

Love this style of video. Cheers Rich and the team.
Did the 30 proof this year and last year; so fun to see GMBN do this!
Love Rich's videos. We need more events like this in the UK.

Looked like a lot of cool fun.Awesome stuff as always Rich thumbs up Dude!!!
This race absolutely kick my ass. Didn’t pre ride any of it. Huge mistake. Bonked hard but finished
Great video! This race is the reason I ride now. My house is on the road portion of the climb. Got sick of watching others so I decided to join in. Bought a bike and, 2 years later, did my first race. Kicks my ass everytime :)
So cool seeing
Love these race videos to see which races I want to ride
Todd Sadow, ha I went to high school with that guy in Texas. Small world.
Well done,Rich! Sort of a US redemption!
These epic races are great content. Keep it up.
Thanks 🙌 We have some ideas for more... Stay tuned!
My town. My street. Love riding in my hometown of Prescott, AZ.
We had a great time riding there too 🙌
great history behind the place, a proper dodge town and nowadays used for a great yearly MTB event.
So cool to see you do another race here in Arizona!

I did the 30 this year! An epic race!
Great video, nice to meet you in person 👍🏻

Looks amazing
Rich looks good in a cowboy hat!!
So sweet
Well done Rich you did pure dead brilliant
Croc trophy in Cairns North Queensland, October. Or if your early the R2R in August. Both will test you.
Great job and it's so good you found bluegrass music or as I call it, real music
Worzles :D
Great edit! Nice work guys. Love these vids with Rich
Great video, and a fantastic event! I hope you had a great time in my home town!
Leave it to Kaolin to be the face of “having fun” 😂
Really cool and somehow motivation video
Rich well done mate that looked very tough.
Did it 3x on my SS, best time was 4:31 ish. It definitely is an epic adventure for sure.
Great effort, especially on a singlespeed!
Nice job, Rich!
Love this event. Thanks for the video ❤

I rode the TOWM last Oct 2022. My first time. LOVED it. I didn't get a chance to ride the Whiskey off Road, though, but it looks fun.
Thanks great show would love to do that one day keep the video going
Great race Rich. My 9yr old son loved meeting you on Friday. He had such a great time that he decided to participate in his first MTB race last weekend.
That's great to hear! We hope he had fun out there!
Would be interested in a video of what precautions Rich took this time to avoid ending up in hospital. 👍
Not a lot really just focused on better eating, sleeping and drinking mostly. Otherwise still just went out and gave it the beans 😅
Legend
That looks like an awesome race ! Would like to see you do the Berg100 or Highland100 here in South Africa . Both hard and very scenic races !

Haha, no gloves. That's bold. That's a good effort for your first time on the course though, nice job.

Suggestion for next year. Either 24 hr old Pueblo or Cape Epic, Hank and Rich race as a pair
Did the old Pueblo (sort of) and out my self in hospital….. maybe next year 😂
@@richardpayne5176 that’s why you should relay it with Hank
I live here!
It's pronounced preskit (like biscuit)
Your next race try “fire on the rim” Sept 16. In Pine/Strawberry AZ
You will love it
Awesome
Top video 😃 nice hat 😃
More UK marathon content please.... MTB Epics UK events.... Torq 12hrs... We have plenty 👌
Can we see someone do the Rock Cobbler in California, which is essentially the perfect race for a rigid MTB like you Orbea.
Is there anything like this in the Uk for amateur riders? Top content as always GMBN
You shouls have tried Bairrada 150
What was your finishing time?
What place did Rich take in amateur race?
Whats the name of this break dance beat??
The 15 miler is actually almost 20 with lots of climbing in thin air and your mom would never make it.
Leadville 100 and true grit epic
ORRAM
Desert riding is fun, think that is literally the reason E-bikes were invented
FYI don't go riding in a hot desert with only one little water bottle lolz that would kill you
You've lost Rich to America. He's our now, you can't have him back
He was missing the wind and rain of the UK too much - he's back on our side of the pond now 🤣
😂😂😂
Lmaoo
As an Arizonian, I may have to start appropriating Englishmen in my next videos.
too much Gravel road on this ride. 20 miles of just gravel when there are a ton more singletrack trails they could have linked in
First
