Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign. Apes are the dominant species living harmoniously with one another and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape will undertake a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

@Marianito1234 it's from the lost world jurassic park. The aerial shot in the trailer of the gorillas going through the grass is a callback to the lost world when Spielberg did the aerial shot of raptors hunting the humans

I love it, it's become pretty much tradition to end the title with "of the planet of the apes" :)

How come this special look doesn't have any expanded ratio scenes? I thought there was going to be IMAX®ratio scenes in this movie?
Unfortunately, Wes Ball wanted to it in anamorphic lenses so it is going to be straight up scope with black bars for the whole movie, which means no imax aspect ratio for this movie.

This is the most newest movie you have ever seen in years that is not a repeat of any other kinds of movies that you have been seeing over the years and it is not a king Kong or godzilla movies and not a star wars movies and not a avatar movies

Even then there was a whole planet of the apes movie saga prior. They will still take some elements from the old movies I'm sure but its not something "new'. This movie will probably be the closest to the old movies because its closer to that time period those movies are set in.

They definitely do. I was surprised seeing this before godzilla x kong in imax, the good apes cgi is not up to par w dawn and war

Looks better than the Matt Reeves trilogy.
That's because it resembles the original 5 Planet of the Apes movies (especially the 1968 masterpiece) and the TV series. About damn time. Never cared for the new trilogy.

That’s what I’m wondering as well. According to IMDb, it says the entire movie is in 1.90:1 for imax but the site has been wrong before with an unreleased movie. I want confirmation as well because if there’s no expanded ratio I’ll be going to Dolby cinema.
“experience it in IMAX” ≠ “filmed for IMAX” it’s not shot for IMAX but still showing in IMAX theatres, which is common for big releases even if they weren’t shot in IMAX

In Caesar’s flight over the Sierras, I thought they would incorporate the “Statue of Liberty” from New York-New York casino in Vegas to tie the original back in. This movie might be set too far forward to care.

The title suggests that they really have run out of ideas. Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" is unbeatable. All these prequel films have only one common saving grace: a good background score. Everything else is such a yawn-fest.
