*Works great my **Latest.Bike** I have a bad knee so I still get exercise but the bike assists me. I am a big guy so I didn’t think it would go as fast but it works great.*
I still have my gorgeous SL-5 Specialized S-Works (grand tour winning bike for 2015 to 2017 per GCN's survey) and still enjoying its superb riding qualities! 8=))
I have a blacked-out S-works Tarmac. I also have another SL4. I don't know which one I have on the blacked-out one because nothing is on it except the black S-Works on the down tube. Would the number in the bottom bracket under carriage tell me somehow?
Hey Jason, I am the same height. You are right on the border of either a 54cm or a 56cm. I actually rode a 56cm for three years and then dropped down to a 54cm two years ago. I personally prefer the 54cm as it feels more agile and aligned to my riding style. So I think either way you'll be fine. You'll just need a shorter or longer stem depending on which way you go. If it adds further context for you - the pro's always go the smaller size, so I personally found it comforting to follow what the professionals do! Even though I'm far from pro. Cameron
I'm in the same height region and have been riding 54cm Tarmac's for a number of years, just with a 110mm stem instead of the stock size 100mm. I have tried 56cm a couple of times and always felt there wasn't enough standover clearance for me (short legs) and the headtube height was a little too high for my liking. My SL5 is a dream to ride, so very much looking forward to an SL6 upgrade next year.
"it glides in the wind with more precision..." lots of mainstream gimick talk no offense, too bad you dont share what you really felt (I too can read off the specialized website)
Thanks for the feedback Emile. The commentary was my own, not from the Specialized website. I really did have trouble finding flaws in this bike. Given my history with Tarmac's I felt like I knew where to look for weaknesses, although this frame is completely re-engineered and it really was a A grade beauty. You should try one and let me know what weaknesses you can find? I'd be interested to hear your perspectives! You can read my full story here - www.bikechaser.com.au/blog/2018-specialized-s-works-tarmac-sl6-review-with-sl5-comparison/ - it provides more details. Cameron
The frame is actually the same price as the SL5. I refrained from pricing the entire bike as I am in Australia / AUD and many of the watches are international. Cameron
Best value for the money does not mean better. I got both bikes and the SL6 is superior in terms of performance, riding quality and response. No doubt.
You have to be careful with Specialized, they come out with too many models, and the new models are the old models, only with different colors and maybe tube size, other than that they are the same year after year. It looks like a bike yet it costs as much as a Harley....Also I heard that a carbon frame is really only $500 to make and sell in Asia, not $3,000+....

Fair and honest review of both bikes without showing bias to a particular brand. Well done!
Best reply ever !! Thank you BIKE RACER for the video
Sweet looking bike. I've got a SL4 and am thinking of going to the SL6.
I seriously love my SL4.
This is NOT a review it is a commercial.
for real lmao
nice review

They need to hire you!
looks like they already have
What is the weight of that 54 frame size build?
Do I need to go one size up from sl5? my sl5 size 49, but I've read a lot of discussion about sl6 geometry is smaller than sl5
For me SL5 looks better than SL6... I'm not a fan of SL6's dropped seatstay. 8=))
Nice review. Looks like you had a 54 there was it a good fit for you and what is your height? I'm 5'11 and unsure if I need a 54 or 56, thanks man!

I went for the 56 in the end and for me it's the perfect fit. I have a short torso relative to my legs apparently and the geometry is spot on.

They copy giant style..
josorzo11: I think Giant is better, more value for the money. Also I made as comment above about Specialized..
