    I'll take the T frame of my Matco MB7525 over ANY snap on box any day. 12 years now and it's been carted all over the country and it's like new still. The snap on has that weak riser wall that doesn't connect to the top anywhere. It's wobbly as hell. No thanks.

    I love my Craftsman Pro Series and Industrial roll cabs/top chest. $400 each used. VS $8500
    $8100 , That buys a LOT of tools.
    One is goin on 20 years old, still works.
    WATERLOO all the way!

    Y'all say what you want. I've been a Senior Master Ford diesel tech for lil over 8 years now and my Snap-On KRL1023 and hutch has been the best investment so far. Homebodies, don't bother. Real techs have Snap-On. There's a big ole American Flag posted on the back of it. Made In The USA, that's why I buy Snap-On. Don't complain about lack of jobs in this country if you don't su

      JeepinBoon I have a snap on box and love it. But you know a lot of them are made in Canada. Its a drag about all the American companies moving out of the US. But are government hates them. I live in California and they do all they can to drive companies away. It sucks. I do my best to by American but its getting so hard. And the cost of living out here is so high and I'm a Pressures washer mechanic. The snap on guy get 20% of what I make right now.

    I've had my 46in Cornwell for 30 years and the drawers still glide smooth and that's after dropping it off a truck. Also have a cheap craftsman 40in roller with top. It's cheap and thin I've used it the last 4 years every day and the drawers open and close like they should loaded heavy. You'll never get your money back buying a high priced box and it's the tools that make your money.

    • @esfi6311
      @esfi6311 4 года назад

      I have an older Cornwell which was made by Remline and the bottom frame had to be reinforced because it started sagging. Don't get me wrong I love the box but they were weak when holding lots of weight for extended use.

    its all about personal preference. i have a matco box in my garage at home and i have a snap on box that i work with everyday at my dealership. both are very nice boxes, both hold up well and out perform craftsman, mac, and cornwell(in my opinion) i personally like my snap on box better, the drawers feel smoother when they open plus they have a latch release instead of the matco box where i have to yank my drawers open

    I've seen very few videos demonstrating the limits of Snap-on products vs the cheaper competitors. I have seen a video comparing Snap-on combination wrenches and Craftsman. A threaded hole locked in a vice, and a bolt threaded in. The snap on was able to crank down the bolt until it sheered the bolt off. Very impressive considering that the craftsman and other brands slipped off when the jaws of the open end on the wrench opened up a little. But I have never met a bolt that my craftsman tools can't tighten sufficiently. Until I do, I will stick with what I have. As for the box they go in, lol. I've done without one for so long, that if I were to switch to a large tool box like the ones in the video, I wouldn't have any use for the dozen or so canvas bags that I currently haul my tools around in. lol. I don't work in a shop, so I don't need to lock them up from fellow employees, or anything. and once I get to working, I put the few that I'm using on a rolling work table. Until I am put under the conditions that would require these expensive tools, It's just not reasonable to spend the money (that they're probably worth) on them. I probably never will. Like I said, I haven't met a bolt that my current gear couldn't work with. And if it breaks, (which it never has) I can return/replace it easily. Not many snap-on trucks stop by military bases, and certainly none in my drive way.

    I can't seem to recall EVER hooking up a frame straightener to my tool boxes. If you ever move your boxes across a garage floor it's uneven no matter what so they flex depending on weight distrbution (Where you put the tools inside). Hell, most shops you set your boxes in one spot until you leave that business! Unless you work in a climate controlled shop the weather affects the condition of the boxes more than anything else anyway. Just buy what you can afford at the time.

  • @Criztoferlee

    I know that Snap-on has the best tools EVER, but I just cant AFFORD them! Craftsman's tools have life time replacement, no questions asked. Then factor in that the price is manageable, I just buy Craftsman... Now if I had the money, I would have a garage FULL of Snap-on tools! (No, I'm not a tightwad or just cheep, I'm still in collage and just using a cheaper alternative.)

    I can't speak for mechanics who earn a living with their tools as I am a home user and mainly use my tools to tinker with classic cars and my amateur radio antennas, but I do know that in everything, I always try to buy the best. When it comes to pliers, I get all of mine from Knipex; for power tools, usually the American made Makita or Swiss made Bosch (except hammer drill which is Snapon)., for the rest of my stuff, including the tool chest, it's Snap On. Best quality.

    Snap-on Matco Mac Craftsman cornwell its like Ford Chevy Dodge what you like is what you buy really no difference. And don't be like there is a difference I drove all three truck brands I prefer Fords and tools Craftsman for me just because they are cheap and easy to replace when and if they break. Thats the truth buy what you want to buy.

    deffinately I think that snap on rigs alot of there videos. ive seen alot of tools ive even met the matco rep and when you ask them why there tool is "signifigantly better than anyone else" they kind of studder and make something up or say that there tool has something that everyone else always has. and i mean snap on is nice but when are you ever going to put that much side load on a box? and maybe its just me. i dont really want to spend more on my box than my car lol

  • @notoncemoreagain
    @notoncemoreagain 15 лет назад

    Yeah... I agree. I have all snap-on tools, all the way through my box.. in a mac box. $16,000 worth of tools in an $800 box... whereas with snap-on, the same roll cab and top chest would have been about $2,650. One day I probably will break down and get a snap-on box, but not anytime soon

      In the Canadian military the tools were a miss match of various brands and the tool boxes were often "Gray" brand. The old green military boxes I have no idea of the brand. The Vidmar cabinets were usually used by the supply chain to organize parts and are usually the cabinet systems in the purpose built shipping containers that we used. My next box will likely be vidmar, but snap-on is what I currently use.

    Snap On tools are very nice , especially if you have them in your hands eight hours a day, then you want confortable handles and solid engineering. But 64 dollars for a ratchetting screwdriver?? 290 bucks for a seven piece combination wrench set??
    The stuff is awesome but waayyy overpriced. A good Snap on stack (Box only) will probably run 3500? when a Craftsman pro series is a grand.

    if you are only going to spend 4 grand or less on a tool box get a macsimizer and dont look back, anything more and its a toss up. unless you are wanting to drop your 3k-15k tool box from 8 ft or get it "caught" in the frame straighter, you might want to find another line of work. perhaps demolition might be better
