In this video, I tell you exactly what happened on the way to takeoff the first morning of the MLF Big 5 Toyota professional bass fishing tournament. I can't believe what happened. My boat flipped off of the trailer off of a cliff, and went 50 yards down a bluff wall in a creek bed.

My first boat was about 60 years ago. We would walk to our swimming lessons about a mile, with our Mom. On the way home we would stop at a private beach access belonging to friends. Down there we had very large chunks of driftwood and crude paddles. We would troll around these giant rocks, trying to catch anything. I have been in love with anything that floated and carried me. Losing my boat like this 60 yrs later would be heart wrenching. I know it is a material thing, but God gave me a deep appreciation for things i worked for. I used to take many people fishing who had never been fishing and helped them form a deep bond with the outdoors of my country! 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Wow, this was tough to watch. You and I pulled out of Claysville ramp last night at same time. I see you’re back in business with new boat and truck this year. Even at that the loss of a boat you have been in for so long and know well is a tough loss. Onward and upward!

God and insurance will help you out brother. I had a similar experience except I was on Pickwick last April and my motor broke off while and running. I lost nearly everything . Mine was also a Stratos. New one is as well. The best boats. He blessed me with my life still and with a bigger.. better boat and gear. Material things are pointless during these times though. You got this.

Oh man, I just lived a day like that with a wet surface where going 15 mph I ended up in a ditch. ($4300 in damage) Not to take away from your horrible experience and the sick feeling you must of had in your stomach as they drag your boat out. But that feeling is not one that anyone likes. You two got this!

I'm sorry for you on the loss of your the boat, but like you said if it had not snapped the tie downs you would have ended up down the cliff, similar thing happened to me years ago, even though I lost my truck it could have been a lot worse, but no one got hurt, God was there for me just as he was for you, as far as driving in the rain you got to respect the rain & the roads, no doubt God was watching over you I don't know if he's trying to tell you something about fishing or something worse might had happened on the lake, he knows the future we just got to trust him!🙏🙏

I’ve been in 2 major accidents that almost took my life. One from a motorcycle and the other an auto accident. Ppl tell me all the time how lucky I am to still be here and they follow that up with “God must REALLY have a plan for you!”

What ever you decide, take the money if insurance totals it or offers to repair it, I wouldn’t consider it totaled. Thats the beauty of a glass boat over aluminum. A good fiberglass boat shop can make it look new again. I bet the motor is still good also. The only tough part is finding any console parts you might need. I would ask the boat shop you take it to, to work with the adjuster on getting the most from insurance and they may come to a agreement that both sides can live with. You said that Insurance isn’t gonna pay for a new one, and they won’t, but your boat looks well taken care of so should be worth the most of what your boat is worth. Good luck and will be waiting to see how you come out.==):}

Give Ben green insurance agency a call and talk to Ben Green or Bryan Partak. They will help you even if you don’t have their insurance....they are bass fisherman who know how to get you taken care of. They helped matt allen with tactical bassing. After that I’d highly recommend getting insurance through them!

I love the faith that you have bud. I am sorry this happened but that is the way to walk in faith!! I pray that out of this you get a boat that is better than this one. I had the same thing happen with my truck in November, totaled it when a truck pulled out in front of me in the fog. Insurance was great to me and God provided me a better truck than the one I had. I now have no problem pulling the boat to tournaments! Glad you are ok! Might have to look you up next time I am fishing in your area. I live in Texas, but went and fished Neely Henry in January, then Telico and Watts Bar in TN, then to Reel Foot.
