    Apple is crossing the line. Making passkeys automatically without explicit user consent is illegal.
    They should stop that (and stop passkey support while they're at it) so their developers have time to keep proper security up to date.

      @@CyberMedics Whatever is forced on me. Filing taxes digitally is a nightmare. It takes at least 10 minutes to get in with the second, third and fourth factor required.

    So you need to scan the qr code every time you log in? No thanks

      For some people and in some cases like me, it is faster to whip out your phone or lift it off the table than to look up a password you forgot in your password manager. If you use the same password for everything it isn't needed. But this gives the benefit of having a "different password" for each service you use. It's better security without the effort of forgetting passwords imo.

      On iPhone you do, but Android gives you the option to skip the QR code. On subsequent logins you would only need to authenticate to the Android phone.

      Can find iPhone option when using add another way to sign in on MacBook and iPad. Is it for windows only?
