- I race my newly purchased 2007 Honda cr125 against my older 1999 Honda cr125 to see which bike is really faster. I ride my the 2007 and my younger brother Charlie rides the 1999.

So you got smoked by your younger, lighter brother after an even start and the excuse book came out. Then you jumped him in the second race and carried on like a bad winner. Your new bike is no faster than your old bike. With a fair start the lighter rider will win, especially on a 125.

You know what sound I love most. Someone going from 5th or 6th gear wide open throttle to no load at all and just engine breaking the shit out of a 2t for 50 to 100 yards

The 2007 one is running lean, you can tell by the sound and the high idle. You either have a badly tuned carb or an air leak. It won’t last long if you keep running it flat out with that problem sadly.
RustySkull Productions I bet it needs a good carb cleaning and maybe new jets. This was the first time I actually rode the bike since I've had it.

Are those 5 or 6 speeds? I gotta plated 92 CR125 that's also a screamer, it's a 6 speed.
Brandon Jimenez yeah the 6 speeds are faster. This one is a 5 speed. Feels like it can go a lot faster, but there isn't another gear to shift up into.
2vintage You might also want to pull the stator cover and stator to check the crank seal too.. Its not hard to do and could save you a few hundreds if you catch it in time.. Well if thats it..

2007 Needs to be rejetted for the Winter weather, and you may have a leak at the Reed Manifold. Charlie hit his growth spurt. Kid is getting tall. And it is a shame that you had to do a 2nd run and get the jump on Charlie. I think that the 2007 would be faster if it was jetted correctly and the Manifold leak is fixed (don't try to jet it without finding the leak first. Soapy water and a spray bottle will be your best friend).
Ya, remember when Chuck was alabout the 84 rm125? the one that broke at the end....i wish they had that old rm to compare...i have a 84 rm250....i wish there was a part 2 to the old rm125 story....like how much did it sell for, and there was actually 2 of them.....? Very entertaining, love it!!!!

Both bikes got out to their respective lead and held it. The starts were identical as far as a clear advantage gained due to the human factor but from where I am sitting after each one jumped to 5-7 bike lead and both were wide open, they looked equally evenly matched

Pretty obvious the 1999 is faster but the way the big brother done the little brother in the 2nd race was uncalled for. The big brother got gapped and he pulls out excuses so he asked for a 2nd race and had to jump to win

Dented pipes are normal thier fine as long ass its not smashed to the point where their is restricted air flow

Lmfaooo. All these internet professionals telling him what’s wrong with his bike. At 11:30 you hear him say “whys my bike idling so high?” And he takes the choke off. His choke was on the WHOLE TIME until the last race 😂 That’s the big mystery here. Bike is fine. You’re welcome.
Start your bike up, let it idle, and take a can of carb cleaner and spray all around the engine, intake, carb, spark plug, etc. If the idle doesn't change, take the ignition cover off and try to spray behind the flywheel. You'll notice a change in idle when you locate the leak.
You don’t need to use that much clutch shifting up, I don’t even use clutch you throttle back a tiny bit then shift up

sounds you have a problem with your choke. i could be wrong though. when it revs high like that it means your choke is getting stuck in the open position. im not a mechanic but thats my guess. how do yall afford all those motorbikes? i wish i could. anyways i hope yall get it fixed. i enjoy yalls channel.

Ok, don't tell Dad, just humor my friend..
The dude with the 2007 bike is idling way too high. He either has is choke on, jetting too lean or the air screw set too lean or even the throttle screw needs to be turned down. Either way he definitely needs to tune that carb. When your bike is idling superfast like that it means it's running too lean. I thought even though 99 was idling super fast. Two strokes you want them idling fairly slow. I high idle also makes it hard for the bike to bring the rpms down after letting off on the gas which makes for a much slower response for slowing down, especially in tight turns. Also running to lean can blow your top end.

Check your intake boot that connects the carb to the Reed cage for a crack

Check hose that lead from your carb to the airbox and spray wd40 on the hose and if it idles higher you have and air leak but thats what it sounds like whats happening i had the same problem with my 2009 kx250f
