- Brandon and I are avid DIYers. We invested in our house when we were quite young, and even then we knew it would be our forever home. Through the years we have made many changes and almost doubled the original square footage of our living space. We saw the potential for this house to be all we wanted in life and at the time that we purchased it, it was just what we needed. As our lives changed and our family grew, so did our needs. Instead of pursuing a new house, we invested in our home and tackled countless DIY projects to be sure it has always been able to meet our needs. In this series we’ll focus on everything from floor plans to purchasing materials, and final touches. Expect to see the big DIY’s and smaller ones too. Get ready to follow us on our journey of creating our master suite and all that lies ahead, as we continue to make our house the perfect home for our family.
Welcome back to The B’s Business or welcome if you are new here, thank you for joining us! This is episode 6 in our newest series on this channel: House to Home. In this series my husband Brandon and I tackle all sorts of DIY projects. We are currently working on the biggest DIY project we’ve ever tackled: designing and creating our master suite. We are taking this area from a raw space that consisted of just the exterior walls and windows to the master suite of our dreams. In today’s episode we are adding shelving, storage and organization to my craft room! This 8’ x 10’ space has a large 6’ opening versus a traditional door. I designed this space this way in an effort to make it feel open and inviting. The opening to this room is the first space you’ll come to as you begin down the hallway of our master suite. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing this space begin to take shape in today’s episode, which is part 1 of 2 dedicated to the craft room, and maybe you’ll feel inspired to tackle a DIY project of your own. I never have been to Ikea ,but in june my 10 year short note on my home will be paid off,so i am hoping to go,when i drop off my grandson end of summer 😊ikea is 300m from me,but just happen to be where my granddaughter lives
That’s a great way to celebrate having your home paid off! And how convenient that IKEA happens to be near where your granddaughter lives! I’m looking forward to my annual trip with my Grandmother coming up in June when we travel to visit her ❤️
Remember, labeling is not about finding what you’re looking for, it’s also about knowing WHERE to put things back. This applies more so to my husband and children! 😉

It’s a special opportunity! There is one in Boston, in case you didn’t already know. I have never been to that one. But I sure do look forward to my annual trip to the Jacksonville IKEA with my Gram ♥️
How will you lay flooring if you already put up floor to ceiling shelving?
It won’t be the easiest task 🥴 We’ll have to take the shelves off the walls when we do that and hang them back up after we’ve laid the flooring. But it was the best solution for the time being knowing flooring isn’t our priority right now. I didn’t want to miss out on having useable shelves for however long it is until we put flooring down.
