When I was a kid my father tested out his new lathe by making me a baseball bat. It was beautiful, well formed, good weight, varnished to perfection, it was wonderful. What we didn't know was that there was a large crack in the center, running almost all the way down the bat. First time I really got a good hit on a ball, it shattered into a hundred pieces. I was devastated.

well power hammers were around during the 17th century so idk im fairly sure they all did follow the rules
@@damiensarmoury3014 No. The concept was around in the late 1700s. The first 'power hammer' wasn't built until 1840, and that, along with its many descendants, was steam powered. So, if we're going to differentiate torches between plasma and acetylene, then the same can be said of power hammers. They don't have a steam powered one, so power hammer is out.

If I was running a team, I would surely try to get those guys joining my camp! A blacksmith is a musthave if you want to create hardware and weapons from scratch

My dad once made a baseball bat for me on a wood lathe. I still have it, to this day. Seeing the wooden bat being shaped brought back good memories of days gone by with my father. RIP Dad.
My favorite part was the old man enuciating "fallout" to make it look like he knows that that is. Unless he does, in that case ill shut the hell up and tip my hat to the old guy. reguardless, hes a master of his craft.

Nail bats, while intimidating, have horrible sustainability as a weapon. Each hit makes it less effective and just having the nails in it make it structurally less durable
But that's point in-game tbh. Make something plain looking, in this case a regular baseball bat, into something scary that might make raiders think twice about attacking you. You may not intimidate a Super Mutant or a Deathclaw but it may scare off potential trouble makers and/or chem addicts.

Some of them might be a bit hard to do because of how large and wide they are, but Kubikiribōchō, Nuibari and the Kiba swords should be doable. I would also like to see Sasukes Kusanagi and Hidans scythe.

Same, I'm super jealous that they now own a functioning Kremvh's Tooth and I don't. Well, functioning as in it's a working machete; it's not irradiated like Kremvh's Tooth, but that's probably for the best. Such a cool build. Although I still want to see them build the shiskebob.

The reason I like this series so much is that it has reality television quality without the drama. Usually in a show like this there'd be a fuss about deadlines or some infighting or someone messing up really badly, but on here it's just people doing something that they do well in a really engaging and interesting way.
Thank you for making something like this and not falling into the predecessor's poorly chosen methods.

I made the Earl's Sword from a giant foam block, and from the same block we cut off a piece for my friend's Allen sword. It was an awesome cosplay.

Dusty Korpse it was just for show not weaponizing. They didn't have enough time and tempering them would take time.
What u mean it woulda taken too much time .. this is all they do, and nails are the easiest thing to temper and harden.. u can do multiple at a time and there is no edge , just a point.. totally agree with this comment above , "they are not weaponizing" lol umm yes that's exactly what they are doing Hahaha.. making weapons is literally the only goal here dude
They don't temper and harden the nails because they are being used to hit other, possibly harder objects, which could very possibly cause the nail to snap due to it's brittleness. This is also why some blacksmiths will not harden their striking anvils. A simple mishit (not that uncommon) will cause the steel to chip very easily and that is not a friendly sight to see. When something has that much energy, it does not heed to human flesh. "It is much easier to reforge a tool than to dig out a metal chip out of someone's leg" -Alex Steele.
Not to mention a bent nail with snag and shred flesh better when you rip it out. Crude weapons and be the most brutal and painful weapons

I'm learning so much from these guys just from watching them if only I had a metal shop though :\ lol welding is probably the most expensive type of craft

There is one problem with that idea, they don’t have a death claw hand. And if the6 made one it would look right.

I loove that Jon twisted the barbed wire like it was safety wire on a race motorcycle, his build was so badass, absolutely brutal.

Mad Gamer JW no, your point was that we can't complain that Jon was lazy since in fallout you wouldn't make it from scratch. My point is that Jon was lazy because for example Sam turned his own bat, and then forged his own nails, so making something entirely from scratch. Also, I would cut off the petty insults at the end of all of your comments, they just make you look insecure
What was he supposed to do? Forge his own hollow aluminium bat and cut out his own sawblades. I agree that his build looked easier that all the others, but he still put hard work into it.
Okay so when someone even forges the NAILS that they put through their self made bat it only highlights how lazy it seems to store buy basically everything you used. He didn't make the wire, he didn't make the bat he didn't make the sawblades he basically just IKEA'd his build. I have a lot of respect for these guys but i just feel like for Jon this was a misstep maybe a different build he could have shown more skill.
I kinda agree that he could have at least heat cut saw blades, that was pretty disappointing...

Just a suggestion and I'm not saying the Chainsword has to actually be functional. I mean hell the thing would be as big and as heavy as their Halo Gravity Hammer they did, so for it to be functional would be suicidal.
